To accompany the new 1v1 and 2v2 Battle for Middle Earth Ladders, we will be hosting monthly tournaments to run alongside them. Tournaments will alternate between 1v1 and 2v2 every month, with the first 1v1 tournament starting at the beginning of December. In light of this, we shall be resetting the 1v1 Ladder to give everyone an equal chance to qualify for the tournament. The 1v1 Ladder will then not be reset until the 1st of December, when the draw for the tournament will be announced. For the time being, the 2v2 Ladder will continue, and the first 2v2 tournament is scheduled to take place on January 1st.
To qualify for the tournaments, you will have to finish within the top ranks of the specific Ladder. The requirement for the 1v1 Ladder is to finish within the top 12 and for the 2v2 Ladder you will have to finish within the top 16. At the end of the month you will then be invited to come participate. Don't feel you should just try to finish within the limit, as the higher up the ranks you end, the lower the rank of the opponent you will be drawn against. The top 4 of the 1v1 Ladder will also automatically progress to the next round. However, there may be a few of you who do not wish to enter the tournament: please don't feel the need to stop playing on the Ladder because of this. At the end of the month, those who have qualified will receive a PM inviting them to take part; if you decline, then the next highest ranked player will be invited instead.
A week before the end of November, a newspost will be published regarding information about the rules of the upcoming 1v1 Ladder Tournament and a scheduled date of when the games will take place. Also, the one-year GR subscriber status that was promised for the first player to reach 2500 ELO will be awarded to the winner of the 1v1 Tournament as well as being entered into the Battle for Middle-earth Ladder Hall of Fame along with the Ladder Champion. For those of you who are unaware of how you can play on the BfME 1v1 and 2v2 Ladders, it's very simple. All that is required is for you host or join a game on GameRanger with the title name "1v1/2v2 Ladder Match." If you happen to win, then you post your 1v1 victories in the
1vs1 Ladder Replays Topic and your 2v2 victories in the
2vs2 Ladder Replays Topic. However, make sure you read the
Ladder Rules first if you haven't played before!
Furthermore, we are hoping to have Ladder Tournament games broadcast live over GameReplays, and perhaps even normal Ladder games, too. However, there is a current shortage of Game Commentators; if you feel this may be a job for you, then post your application in the
