Starting positions:
^S1N1ST3R^ - Northwest
timespace - Southeast

Overview:

An average Gondor vs. Rohan game with mistakes and passiveness from both sides. The entrush came quick but Rohan was un-able to keep map control. Just another replay showing why fighting for the fundamental of MC is important.

^S1N1ST3R^ - Gondor

Your starting BO is meant for quick upgrades but by going for stable with no second farm inside, it severely damages your economy. Understandable you want early horses out to keep up with creeping but you most certainly can not go with this start if you can't defend your farms. Don't be so quick to creep the bottom lair as defending both your farms is more important (You can creep afterwards). Demoloshing your farm was a big mistake and you were very lucky Rohan cashfloated on his third horse, lost some of his horses, and demo'd his stable after the third. Vs. a rohan who has decent micro with even just 3 horses would have kept map control the entire time. You did however do a very good job of rebounding with some nice summon/hero micro. Rebuilding your walls after GtW should have been spent on rebuilding horses and then maybe start on at least getting back a couple of walls. But MC always come first before just about everything.

How to Improve

  • Start. Successfully defend your mills first, then you can creep with your soldiers + pip. Consider different starts as well in the Gondor Strategy Forum (You know where this is and you are pretty active).
  • BO. Your start hurt your economy greatly and getting a marketplace (which you didn't use for a while) was not the best idea considering you needed more horses first.
  • PP use. Don't forget to heal your battalion when there is 3.1 soldiers left.
  • MC. The most important factor of all MU's. Always build an army suitable to fight/keep map control. In this case, you needed more horses.
timespace - Rohan

You had a very nice aggressive start and even stole a creep and some money. You had him on the run however a major cashfloat about 5 minutes into the game destroyed your game. Your third horse was delayed and therefore wasn't able to take full advantage of taking creeps/MC and thus slowed your ents. You also did this later after ents slowing your upgrades. Your strategy was also not very strong. Refer here for tips/strategies for Rohan vs. Gondor. I would reccommend a 5 horse strategy as with this (with some good micro) you are almost assured you obtain map control and can reduce the PP's you give to Gondor. Vs. Gondor, you want to avoid battles with his knights so he cannot obtain GtW PP. With 5 horses, you can run with 3 (if he has 3), and then continue to harrass/creep with your remaining 2. You don't even need 5, as long as you have more horses is key.

How to Improve

  • Creeping. Refer here to improve your creeping micro.
  • Cash floating. It kind of appeared you were possibly AFK but either way, try to multi-task so that you can take advantage of the times you are in control.
  • Strategy. Avoid fighting Gondor knights if you know he is behind in PP's. Also refer to the link I gave you to help with your strategy.
  • MC. If you check my reviews, you will notice I have mentioned this in every single one. I cannot stress how much you need more horses to keep map control. More economy gives you money, more money gives you an army quicker than your opponent.
Overall Rating: 5 (Low 5)

Thanks Luân, I'm actually timespace in this match.

Usually in the position I was in near the start would have meant a sure win for me, but Numerion played very well. I was also struggling with a grotesque amount of lag - units running in circles into the enemy instead of running away whicn would have looked like me trying to fight him when I was trying to retreat. - I lost two important battles due to this which would normally be easy for me to win.

I will also look at your suggestions re 5 horse instead of 3 or 2. Thx
