Review A[c]t1ve-ToM` (Goblins, Host, Bottom Spot) Vs. AoW|UnKn0wN` (Goblins)
Both players start with fairly typical BOs, setting the scene for some nicely microed GW on GW battles. Unknown gets out a much earlier CT then his opponent but wastes it completely, and Tom counters with a crippling Wildmen Summon. Despite his extensive HT creeping, AoW is pushed completely on to the backfoot, where he will remain for the rest of the game. Tom, however, fails to finish him off, as he is suffering from massive cashfloat problems, another thing that will remain for the rest of the game.
Unknown chooses to go for the very unorthodox Untamed Allegiance, and it seems like he may turn the tides with a 2 CT/2 Wildmen attack from his opponent's troll lair, but he loses his attacking force in an eye-bleedingly painful play where all he manages is to take down 1 tunnel and almost catch up to a builder. From there, the match just keeps heading downhill until it finally, in quite a welcome maneuver, breaks it's neck at the bottom of a mountain of wasted PPs and cashfloat.
AoW|UnKn0wN` (NathanPearson) and A[c]t1ve-ToM` (I'm a Barbie Girl)
+Nice early game play, save a couple idle units
-Terrible PP usage. UT might have worked out for Nathan, but the first bungled attack threw away any opportunities it might have given him (Wildmen was the only well used PP in the game, kudos to Tom). Watcher was wasted by both sides and was probably a poor choice given the low unit concentration, and Rog was horribly misused (particularly by Tom). After that, the match just wasn't worth commenting on.
-Horrific Cashfloat. This was mainly Tom's problem actually, Nathan kept his in check, though that was mostly because he couldn't keep his RBs up. Tom's was, well...horrific. You cut it down on one point with Drogoth, but it just shot right back up after that. Get ups, get riders, get frigging Mountain Giants, really anything would have won you the game.
-Poor macro. Early-mid game macro was pretty decent, and admittedly this is one of the hardest MUs to macro well, but there were massive numbers of idle units and bungled attacks.
Overall Rating: 3.5/10 (Below Average)
Nice early and early-mid game fighting show some promise, but huge issues plague the rest of the very long match, killing most of the entertainment and skill involved.
