After two and a half months of krew's victory in the World Series 2014 we offered krew to take a seat on the interview chair and asked him a few questions. If you have not known or heard of krew, you should have the latest by last february, when he crushed -HaWkY^, a former World Series champion himself, in a Best Of 9 during a real clash of titans. And here is what krew says...





-HaTeR-: So, krew, this is your first World Series victory. Your way through the brackets was not that easy. Starting off by trigger, going over funge, then facing torque- and ending up fighting hawky. How did it feel? (Watch the World Series 2014 finals)

krew: Felt alright... OK, it felt pretty amazing actually. Because I did it with random, the high of winning an entire WS with no army pick is something I never thought I could do. Especially when playing UvC a couple times, one of them being on Alpine Assault, and winning relatively easy vs trigger on it.

-HaTeR-: Yes. Talking about easy. Does it only seem to be or did -HaWkY^ have a far harder brackets side to go through? I mean, we're talking about RenGo, Vanstr and Diamond-. Seems like your side was a free ride. What do you say?

krew: Only player I would be worried about on hawkys side was diamond. I still knew hawky would win it, though. Trojan and trigger were both going to put up a fight (well at least I thought they would) but ended up being rolled over by me in 3-0. I say my side was a bit more scary, but not by much, honestly. Funge was the only one to take a win from me post finals, which was a very close game. Funge played the best out of my side, which was surprising. But I'm going to have to say my side had the more experienced side collectively. Rengo and van know how to play well, but nothing near enough to give hawky and I a sweat.

-HaTeR-: Ah, really. So, in other words -HaWkY^ had it quite easy going through his opponents, but still failed at you? Seems pretty humiliating for a CCG expert. I wonder what his comment will be on that. But speaking of -HaWkY^, does it seem looking at the finals justified he got that expert badge afterall? I mean you slaughtered him pretty badly in those finals. 27kb loss - outch!

krew: I'll be as fair as possible here. My random exceeds his, but his GLA is more devastating than mine. We both had it pretty easy as far as the bracket though. I have to admit, he countered my GvG build order flawlessly. I think his GLA performance is absolutely worthy of an expert, even though my China steamrolled him in 27kb. I think he was just not ready to play a Chinas gat/th that held nothing back. Did you watch that game? I would not even contest my China with my own GLA after playing that game. Absolute bloody nightmare.



-HaTeR-: Yes, I did. And honestly, in the very decisive moment you were quite lucky with your units' positions, I've seen quite harder gat/th pressure on GLAs before. But let's talk about the passed years' World Series. Competitionwise, what's your impression? I thought there are hardly any hardcore guys competing anymore. And I'm not talking about that newschool-oldschool war. Just no top shot such as Deadclovvn, Chadi, squaak and -NaaB- that were performing on a dominating basis. Is the quality of the World Series definitely dropping?

krew: Hawky, danzor and meany are the only "top shots" if I'm honest. Everyone else is simply good. The quality of the WS is definitely dropping, as there was only 16 player, and only two actually performed well. My gat/th > everyone else's.

-HaTeR-: Alright then. Anyways, let's talk about CCG's future. What's your experience with Revora? Is it just another step before completely dying or do you think it might keep the game alive solidly? I think you agree it can't get worse than with GameRanger...

krew: Future looks bleak. Revora worked for ZH. It will continue to work for ZH. CCG is literally on its last breath. The only game I can get contain the same 7 players. My experience wth revora is almost none. No one plays on it. Gameranger and the 3rd world Arabic community is one low quality experience, but you can't get any worse than no games at all, which is revora. The CCG community as a whole is a very low skilled laggy one as of the last few months. Just being honest. It was amazing in August and September. Many good players in those months.

-HaTeR-: I see, you're still a bit bitter about that. Talking of being bitter. What can be expected tournamentwise from you for the community? Any new plans?

krew: Not much. There's just simply is not much of a demand. Best we can do is play until CCG has that magic spike again. As far as new plans, I have one. I wanted to schedule a top level 4v4 for big game. Was going to give danzor, meany and hawky a shout to play vs any other team. Would be exciting to have zh experts play CCG vs the CCG experts 4v4. I don't have an expert badge, but I am the best player in this dead game right now, it's enough to team up with the ccg experts for some ggs. I have not had a top level game in a very long time. Excluding the 1v1s with meany and hawky.

-HaTeR-: Ah! Interesting. Sounds like a plan. So, I guess we may expect some action from you soon. Now, having spoken of the digital world. How is it going in real life? I understand you're attending college for longer than a year by now, is that correct? So, what is your subject and where shall it take you in the near future?

krew: Yea, I'll only really play if there are good games. I just keep playing laggy noob games recently. I'm taking a nice break until the ccg community wants to do something. Life right now is okish. About to finish the semester, and going job hunting in a few weeks, then starting school again while part time working. Also been working out heavy for the last few months. These three goals plus the little responsibilities like washing clothes and shit will pretty much end my hardcore gaming days. I'm ok with that though, pretty bored of ccg, and am tired of reading cry babies like Trojan, lol. Also recently did a big move to a new state from Texas to Georgia, but it's OK because I'm used to it. Been to 5 different schools and 3 different cities in the last 7 years. Basically a nomad. Subject in college is technical specialist. It's basically a transfer plan. I hope it takes me too UGA (University of Georgia). After that, I'm lost like every other American haha.

-HaTeR-: Thrilling. So, working out is some of your goals, too. I hope we'll be privileged again with a daily photo update of your progress. Honestly, I just can't wait for it. So, you say you're pretty bored of things as I understand. Let's have a look at your most recent pictures. I think you look pretty bad ass with your glasses. Also the bed-room-look with hand on neck is well trained. And judging from the images, there's a krew with and without beard. Can I make a suggestion? How about you combine your glasses with the beard? And to round it off you could get an undercut. You know. That makes you officially the first gipster (Generals-Hipster)! What do you say?



krew: Very funny.

-HaTeR-: Actually, I'm quite serious. But since you seem to be a bit sensible regarding games of make-believe, let's talk about something different. Looking at the latest news about a rather notorious member of the CCG community called raptor (presumption of innocence applies) (-> GR topic), are there any dark secrets of yours? And how would you describe your real self? Is your online behaviour congruent?

krew: I actually don't have any dark secrets. I'm sure someone is like "krew is about to admit he map hacked in the past", but nope, not even once. My real self is pretty similar to online. Sort of... When I'm on Skype, people might describe me as a chill dude. Justin and I tell stories, have debates here and there, and occasionally, I'll get mad at Erfan for being stupid. But we are mostly laughing at Trojan getting mad when he loses. That is a funny Skype call to be involved in. But I am not sure how to accurately explain my character in RL with the one online, because I changed so much in such a short time. Pretty crazy about that raptor thing. Seriously, pimping woman at the same time we were in Skype calls and had no idea.

-HaTeR-: Getting mad for someone being stupid. Yes, I know that very well. But honestly, never been arrested by the cops or done partying Project X alike?

krew: Nah, I'm a boring loser with no stories to tell about me being a rebellious badass. Most of my stories would be about me being a moron. Like missing hints of girls wanting to fuck, me flashing my money in gang territory and getting mugged, or spilling bullshit about Jesus in gamereplays.org. If I'm honest, until recently, I was an absolute idiot.

-HaTeR-: Oh, alright. I guess not everybody can be as badass as Arnold. Let's put the focus on another part of your life. How would you rate your computer skills?

krew: Computer skills? Like my knowledge around the computer in general? Not that great. I know how to open up my computer and navigate programs and files...

-HaTeR-: Yes, that was what my question was about. Because there is a urgent question that is on many readers' minds here. With all your heart, where are those viruses your struggling with really coming from, krew?

krew: My parents and I all fell for the "update your adobe flash player now" popup on my desk top. Couple that with a power surge to my power supply, it's pretty much done. It's not pornhub.com. I swear... lol

-HaTeR-: Certainly. So, porn it is. Anything left to say?

krew: Nah. I just want to say that I'm the best and Trojan is below me.
