How to take Screenshots

By -ToM- - 31st December 2006 - 12:22 PM

Some people were asking me how to make screenshots. Ok, so this is the longer version of this guide how to make screenshots.
  • Start Generals and then go to the Menu "Load".
  • Go to "Load Replays".
  • Select a Replay and load it.
  • Press F12 during the game.

  • The game will now give you a small message that it saved a screenshot.

  • Open your folder "C:\My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Data\". You can find your saved screenshot there.

  • Open the screenshot with Paint and go to Edit -> Save as -> select "JPEG", for instance "sshot1.jpeg".

  • You can now upload the screenshot at gamereplays, just make a new post, scroll a bit down and you will be able to see "File Attachments" - that's where you can upload the screenshots. Gamereplays doesn't allow you to upload BMP Files.
  • JPEGs advantage over BMP Files: They are much smaller. JPEGs are 100 - 200kb, BMPs are 1000 - 2000kb. Don't attach too many screenshots and save webspace for Gamereplays wink.gif
