DSL: A really "different" strategy from you. The thing about a center BM/TH spam strat against a Tank player is that if they go for a traditional build it's not going to work. It happened to work in this instance because Tank went for an unorthodox build that's not used often (I'll get around to you ). First of all a center strat could get overwhelmed by Tank very, very easily if they go dual WF. Second, Nuke THs are pretty expensive (compared to vChina) and they aren't that great against Tank's vet gatts. Regardless, it worked and you had such a strong momentum but then you blew it by getting a HELIX when you should have teched. Getting a helix against a Tank player is like going sentry drone spam in a USA mirror - just a really bad idea. Veteran gats are just going to kill you, as happened here. The money is better spent getting Overlord/ECM/Nuke cannon. Those units can actually challenge a teched Tank later in the game. ^^
thricerules: Ok the helix strat is a Nuke mirror strategy and not a Tank vs Nuke strategy. Why? Your helix/THs are so darn expensive. It's not going to work as well with Tank because you spend all your money on the helix and are forced to delay your first WF. It will just be very easy for Nuke to get some gatts into your base before you can counter them, and even then their gatts can outrun most of your units. You did well to hold on for so long though - operating off of 1 WF for much of the game. It helped that you were able to get Nuke's helix really quickly and get tech units in greater numbers before him. Opening strategy almost killed you but the play after that was pretty good.
Summary: Strats and BO in this game were just strange considering the match up. Maybe both players were just trying out new things to see if they work, I don't really know. I'll give it some extra points because it was kind of fun despite a lot of the mistakes.
thanks for the review lol, I was laughing at myself for making a lix, it was a quickmatch game so I thought he would just spam BM, but he ended up coming with THs too, even a gat. But then I laughed even harder when I saw my flame tank die to his helix. But was a fun game with "unorthodox" builds by both sides so I thought I would post it
