Tiberium Wars Weekly Map Feast - Week 3

A previous edition was converted by CSC, but that has different fog settings and slightly different object placements and starting positions to the original. Our version has exactly the same values as the original Kane's Wrath version had.

You can use the this guide to install the map, only difference is you need to use Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars\Maps folder rather than Command & Conquer 3 Kane's Wrath\Maps folder.

This is the alpha version of the map converted with exact same values as it has in Kane's Wrath. Because of the Tiberium Wars game style will most likely need to be some adjustments to the Tiberium setting and growth rates. Before introducing the more details about the map, we want to give some statics about current maps in the ranked map pool, so you can compare both.


Tiberium Growth Rates

Tiberium growth statistics: Tiberium field growth ratios are the crucial point that we need to consider. In the late game that gets even more important.

Every field has a ''growth ratio'' and these ratios are inversely proportional to the Tiberium growth of the field. I will separate the topics according to map size. Let me show you:

Small Maps:


Tournament Tower:
Tiberium Settings
There are 2 green fields and 1 spike for each player.

Main Tiberium fields start with 30000 credits of Tiberium, which could be increased to 40000 if not used. Their growth rate is 20.

Natural expansion fields start with 30000 and their maximum value is 50000. The growth rate of the fields is 5.

If one spike is destroyed, it makes a Tiberium field with growth ratio of 30

Total amount of Tiberium at the start is: 120000

If both spikes are destroyed, then Tiberium growth coefficient at late game can be calculated as:

2*[(1/20) + (1/5) + (1/30)] = 0.56

Map Size: 7*10^6 ft^2

Tiberium growth coefficient/ Map Size = 8*10^-8



Barstow Badlands:
Tiberium Settings
There are 8 green fields and 1 spike in total.

Main Tiberium fields start with 25000 credits of Tiberium, which could be increased to 30000 if not used. Their growth rates are 20.

Natural expand fields start with 18000 and their maximum value is 30000. The growth rate of the fields is 15.

If the spike will be destroyed, it makes a Tiberium field with growth ratio of 30

Total amount of Tiberium at the start is: 158000

If a spike is destroyed, then Tiberium growth coefficient at late game can be calculated as:

2*[(1/20) + 3*(1/15)] + 1/30 = 0.53

Map Size: 7.35*10^6 ft^2

Tiberium growth coefficient/ Map Size = 7.21*10^-8




Large Maps:


Tournament Rift:

There are 5 green and 1 blue fields and 4 spikes in total.

Main Tiberium fields start with 30000 credits of Tiberium, which could be increased to 40000 if not used. Their growth rate is 10.

Natural expand fields start with 30000 and their max value is 40000. The growth rate of the fields is 10.

The Central green field starts with 30000 and its max value is 40000. The growth rate of the field is 5.

The blue field starts empty and its max value is 25000. The growth rate of the field is 20. It gives 2x the credit.

If one spike will be destroyed, it makes a Tiberium field with a growth ratio of 30.

The total amount of Tiberium at the start is: 150000

If all spikes are destroyed then the Tiberium growth coefficient at late game can be calculated as:

[4*1/10 + 1/5 + 2*1/20 +4*1/30] = 0.83

Map Size: 16.25*10^6 ft^2

Tiberium growth coefficient/ Map Size = 5.1*10^-8


Tournament Dustbowl:
Tiberium Settings
There are 6 green fields and 2 spikes in total.

Main tiberium fields start with 30000 credits of Tiberium, which could be increased to 40000 if not used. Their growth rate is 20.

Natural expansion fields start with 30000 and their max value is 40000. The growth rate of the fields is 10.

Distant green fields start with 30000 and their max value is 40000. The growth rate of the fields is 5.

If one spike is destroyed, it makes a Tiberium field with growth ratio of 30.

The total amount of Tiberium at the start is: 180000

If both spikes are destroyed then the Tiberium growth coefficient at late game can be calculated as:

2*[1/20 + 1/10 + 1/5 + 1/30] = 0.77

Map Size: 13.44*10^6 ft^2

Tiberium growth coefficient/ Map Size = 5.73*10^-8


What to do next

Now it's over to you to make suggestions as to the Tiberium settings and growth rates for these maps, given that we are in Tiberium Wars now. This time round, we are only going to make those changes. For other maps, we'll go further. We will try to update the maps with your suggestions, so let's hear what you have to say.
