2vs2 Tournament Announced!

By 74 - 15th May 2011 - 12:11 PM

Ladies and gentlemen, commanders, we at GameReplays.org are pleased to bring you a long anticipated C&C 4 tournament! This time it's going to be 2v2. We really wanted to present you this a long time ago, but because of the CnCSaga VS Gamereplays tournament we had to delay it.

Prize Money

Because many people told us that they do not want prize money, we decided to remove it. Instead we are giving 50 USD away as a reward to the first place team for winning the tournament!

Time and Location

The tournament will be held on 19th June, 5 PM GMT. (We delayed since exams are over and we prefer to have more teams) Use this website to make sure when the tournament takes place for your time zone. The location is Tournaments1 in the chat lobby. Do NOT be late! Failure to show up on time will result in disqualification.

Game Settings

  • 2v2
  • Lethality: Medium
  • Time Limit: 30 minutes
  • Victory points: 2000 (Semi-finals and finals 2500!)
  • Goal Point Multiplier: x1
  • Unit Kill Multiplier: x1
  • Reveal Map: Off
  • Random Crates: Off

Game Format

The overall format of the tournament will be announced after the sign-ups are closed and we know the number of teams participating.

Individual matches will be played as best of 2 games. Both teams play as Nod one game and as GDI the other game on the same map. In case of a tie in wins, the total Victory Points decide the winner. In the highly unlikely case of a tie in Victory Points there will be a 3rd game. For this game one team chooses either a faction or a map, the opposing team chooses what's left. A coin-toss by the referee will decide who chooses first. The finals will be played as a best of 4 on 2 different maps.

Maps

Maps will be chosen by the teams by eliminating. All 15 official maps were divided into 3 map pools that you can see below. When the elimination begins, one team announces which (whole) map pool they want to eliminate, then the other team does the same. That leaves us with just one map pool. Then the first team announces which map from this map pool they want to eliminate, then the other team does the same. This is repeated once more. After that there's only one map left. That is the map the match will be played on. Teams can agree which one will start the elimination, otherwise a referee will decide by a coin-toss. A referee must be present when elimination happens.

When choosing a second map for the finals, the map used for the first match can't be picked again. Should there be a situation that this map is one of the two last remaining (not yet eliminated) then it must be eliminated and the other one will be used. The losing team chooses who starts the elimination.

Rules

  • A team can have up to 3 players. In other words you can have one backup player if you wish.
  • Winner reports. Post the results of your games + replays into this topic after each round. When naming the replays, please use this format: round number, your team name, their team name and what game number it is.
    For example: Round1_TeamA_v_TeamB_Game1
  • Disconnection rule is simple, if a player disconnects before 60 secs based on the in-game timer then the game restarts. If a player disconnects after 60 secs the game continues regardless.
  • Referees will host the semi-finals, the finals and may observe any other game.
  • Referees will have the final say, their decisions are not open for discussion. You are obliged to follow referee's instructions. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. This also means that if rule is written differently than what the referee says, the referee's word will be the final one!
  • In the interests of sportsmanship, players are strongly advised not to smurf.
  • In accordance with site policy, banned people are not allowed to participate in events, organised by GameReplays.org, such as this.
  • By signing-up in the tourney you agree with all the rules and conditions of the tournament.
