Thanks Sunreflos good points! The idea is also to keep the GDI forces together left and right. The lack of a fith player forces them also to pay attention to the middle. This does not mean they should try to hold or conquer it. That is for later in the game when GDI has gained the tech advantage. The idea is just to steal points from the start by getting the node without much effort. The focus for both teams is on left and right in the beginning, staying together ! The enemy will have to do the same, to hold left and right. So the middle will not be havely contested, leaving some easy points.

I still believe the defense at west node is a key factor. Have you noticed the defense building and crawler placements ? In order to steal the green Tib, the maurauders would have pass the turrets and the base defense units twice or manage to pass unnoticed via the uplink, very unlikely urly in the game. Giving your team something less to worry about and something more to focus on.
