1vs1 or 2vs2 idc.
I would like to see a random only tournament or only vanilla factions Nod, GDI and Scrin.

So I guess this will be the last tournament on gamespy.
I will attend. :-)

Voted double elim to have the highest possibility of the best 2 players making the finals.

Yep, it'll be exactly the last 'Farewell GameSpy' tournament, but definitely not the last one in general - we'll do our best to find alternative solutions.

realistically we can hold tournaments indefinitely as long as people show up.

the shutdown effects general gaming not events.

it depends on what day it is, if its on a Saturday my time i can show but if its Sunday i cant. Also i was hoping people would pick random only so there's not much bike-buggy lame from black hand players but all well

In reality, the shutdown only adds a single extra step to general gaming. We have been testing 3rd party hosting services and they are looking extremely promising and require very little work on the users' end to setup and implement.

Imho...some of these alternatives offer BETTER experiences than the original hosting (aside from possible added lag, but I've yet to experience a single instance of lag while playing so far), such as an in-game overlay client which is similar to the Steam in-game client and an improved messaging system.

We are looking to fix the date for this now on either 17 or 18 May. Does anyone have a major problem with an 11 GMT start? I suggest that because, given the double elimination, the event could go on for quite a while and, if we host the event on the Sunday, it could get pretty late for our GMT players with work the next day.

Let's hear your thoughts.

Well, 11 GMT is a bit early for me personally... An hour or two later would be perfect.
