Analysis of the GDI Firehawk Stratofighter By Confessor Joseph Silver
The Firehawk Stratofighter is GDI's ultimate fighter-bomber. It is currently the fastest aircraft in the world, faster than even our Armageddon and Vertigo bombers. It s capable of flying into the stratosphere, thus the name, which enables it to bypass even our best SAM systems.
Enclosed is a GDI training manual for the Firehawk. This document was delivered to me by an undercover Shadow known as "Moon", who doubles as a fighter pilot on the aircraft carrier, GDS Australia.
Peace through power.
This is a list of how many Firehawks you need to destroy a specific target. For aircraft, I list the number of missiles needed to blow it up, since Firehawks fire their four anti-aircraft missiles one after the other. Just divide the number by four and you'll get the number of Firehawks needed to blow up that aircraft (duh).
People have been complaining about just how weak the Firehawk is against tanks. I did some testing offline, and I discovered that although Firehawks are useless against tanks, they are much, much better than Vertigos when it comes to blowing up structures. Another thing that I noticed is that with two airfields and eight Firehawks, you can blow up any building in the game. In fact, with just one airfield and four Firehawks, you can destroy any structure in the game other than a construction yard or a superweapon.
The Firehawk's anti-aircraft capabilities are also very powerful. Four Firehawks can cripple or destroy any Scrin aircraft. Four Firehawks can destroy a Mothership, though they'll have to reload once in order to finish the job. Yes, the Mothership is incredibly weak.
Anyway, I've been using Firehawks more often when I play GDI. I build four Firehawks against most players and eight against turtles. They're very good at cracking a turtle's shell.
Global Defense Initiative
Construction Yard - 7 Outpost - 1 Battle Base - 2
Power Plant - 2 Refinery - 4 Barracks - 2 War Factory - 4 Command Post - 2 Airfield - 1 Armory - 1 Tech Center - 4 Space Command Uplink - 1 Crane - 2
Watchtower - 1 Guardian Cannon - 2 AA Battery - 3 Tiberium Silo - 1 Sonic Emitter - 3 Ion Cannon Control Center - 7
Thank you for quantifying the difference between the Vertigo bomber and a Firehawk loaded with bombs (their damage value is the same, but they do different types of damage).
Anyways, how about listing how many BOMBS it takes to down aircraft that are still on their pads ?
I use aircraft very often, but not always Firehawks because their AA-defence. Do you destoy those also with your Firehawks? They are not very cheap so that's why I didn't do it.
I never use aircraft to destroy anti-aircraft defenses. That's like using riflemen to destroy shredder towers.
Anyway, I limit myself to four Firehawks most of the time. Four is the magic number. You can destroy any structure in the game except for construction yards and superweapons with four Firehawks. You can destroy or cripple all aircraft with four Firehawks.
Yeah, I always get 4 Firehawks against Scin and (if the game lasts long enough) against GDI. They're great for taking out tech labs so you don't have to worry about Mammoths and Tripods.
I just tried to take down an obelisk with 3 Firehawks and failed.... unless this particular mission features altered obelisks, it takes 4 firehawks to kill an obelisk.
-oh wait, I'm playing on hard, that may be why-

Were you playing in singleplayer? AI buildings automatically repair when they're damaged, forcing you to use more bombers or shadow teams to blow them up.
1 firehawk to destroy tiberium chemical plant and other similar type buildings? 1 firehawk to destroy a $3000 building, too good to be true.. it didnt work for me... i needed 2. yea but 2 is still very easy for me.

Sry im going to have to disagree with you. Vertigos are WAY BETTER than Firehawks against buildings and even tanks. The reason? First is they take the same amount of bombers to blow up structures as the Firehawks. Second they last longer because of their stealth capability. They can bypass AA and not take so much damage like the Firehawk. GDI just needs to stick with tanks.

Actually, Vertigos deal less damage to buildings than Firehawks. Click on the Vertigo guide in my signature if you don't believe me.
