eaw isn't that visually stimulating....gets kind of old to see different colored laser beams flying in every direction. And...only 2 factions? they shouldve had trade federation, republic, empire, and rebels at the very least.

look lasers, they're going back and forth ! omg it's a gaming revolution, seriously watching pong is more amusing and equally diverse

k we now have 'space battles' which are like exactly the same as ground battles only the ground got a black paintjob and we reduced the units in scale so our maps would look bigger

What the hell... The BFME2 BETA, which means NOT even a finished product. IS WAY MORE better then that Star Wars Demo... which means a sneak peak of the final game...

And to be fair, I really...REALLY...REALLY wanted that EAW. After that demo, my want for it went from 94% to 12%... yes, it was that bad. AND horribley ugly looking graphically and artistically.... I hated everymoment of it.

EAW sucks balls.
"Special" abilities like "take cover" and such, craptastic graphics, maps that are smaller than the length of my printer paper, a max population count in the TENS, and sound that is just mundane. The previews made it look like a serious contester against BFME2, but the simplicity of it is that Star Wars just doesnt make for a good RTS game(or hasnt so far).

TBH after the EaW demo I gave my vote to BfME II

lol a game with 6 factions and customizable heroes vs. a game with 2 factions... I wont be the one crying after i ge bored of EAW. Don't get my wrong im a huge star wars fan, if not more than lotr (notice the avatar) but i know a good game when i see one, and 2 factions in 2006 is not going to cut it at all. Anyone else miss Republic and Sepratists?

Its all about the replay value.

BFME2 tbh as its EA they make the best RTS games in the world, just a shame they really cant keep schedule, and they didnt invite me to LA hehe!

Star Wars is nothing compared to LoTHR, from what I hear about the EaW Demo it was dissapointing, while every one loves the BFME2 BETA, long live BFME2

But I can't believe EaW is actually winning that poll. Anyway, people will realize the truth after both games will be out.

Man, I thought the EaW demo was pretty good. And despite the flaming I'm probably going to get, I guess there are more Star Wars fans out there than LotR fans.

Chess is great for a game that was invented THOUSANDS of years ago. But, for 2006, 2 sides is a bit stingy, especially when other factions that are in the star wars universe are there, but are not being used.

I am both a LOTR and a Star Wars fan. But for christ's sake EaW demo sucked. It seriously did. I had high hopes for that game, and now I'm just totally dissapointed.
We are so lucky that we can get BFME2, these two games aren't even comparable. BFME2 is just so much better, even without the war of the ring or create a hero features, it still manages to make a homerun.

I suppose the ppl who voted for EaW havent tried the beta or they just think its the same as BFME 1.
Just have to wait for the BFME2 demo, then they'll see who's the real RTS masterpiece.
