Good tip. Simple but very useful and important =)

Another Con:

In an infantry to infantry battle Low morale units probably should not be used like this, as 50% of the force is exposed to fire from an attack... well... The more that die the larger the morale hit. This is a very wise way to line up infantry early period I would just avoid using it on the attack. As long as they get the first shot in you should be in good shape.

This formation also reduces casualties from enemy artillery.
