The RotWK 2.02 section on GameReplays is in dire need of Strategy Specialists and commentators. We have not had a successful team of staff in a long time and our section is suffering for it!
Strategy Specialists are excellent players who are responsible for creating strategy guides, moderating the strategy forums, and helping members in the strategy forums. As a Strategy Specialist, you will have the unique opportunity to officially assist inexperienced 2.02 players with advice and guides. Though the 2.02 strategy forums aren't particularly active now, the job of creating guides for newer players is also extremely important. We need to have as strong a team of Strategy Specialists as possible before The Day in order to effectively serve incoming players from 2.01.Apply to become a Strategy Specialist here!
Commentators provide commentary during games, either substituting a replay with a video-on-demand (VOD) or by supplementing a replay with an audio file (a "shoutcast"). Other GameReplays sections have strong, successful commentating sections, and 2.02 should have one as well. Commentators in other sections are highly regarded as a figurehead of the community. 2.02 VODs would be an excellent way to introduce 2.01 players to 2.02 gameplay without even requiring them to download the patch, so this position is very important too. Guys I really need help finishing the Transition Guides series before The Day. I can do MotW and Goblins myself probably in this time, anyone who wants to help with Dwarves and Isengard would be hugely appreciated. It's not that they're time-consuming (takes me about an hour, probably will be a bit more for you) but with everything else I'm responsible for I just don't have time to write everything that needs to be written!

Actually we can reduce your warn up to twice the normal rate for exceptional service to the community. When you reach 30% then you can join staff but until then nothing stops you from writing the Isengard Transition Guide.

Implementing a "part-time staff" system may be a solution imo.
The requirements to remain on staff in the 2.02 section are the minimum reasonable to be allowed a staff badge. For SSs this would mean two short "guides" (nonweekly TotWs ) each month. Everybody can do that.
haha probs commentating in the end i never go in the strategy forums so i'd be a crap ss. there are gaming forums on gr that have the same replay posting activity as rotwk but they have like 10 different official commentators! and then random people do commentaries just for fun and post them up and even though they're not professional it's fun to watch them commentating on the action! many are exciting too!!! i think there is a way to record using wegame instead of fraps which seems easier for me but i wont be able to try anything out until mid-december

Continue to stay nice and we will see.
and duck's done shitloads for rotwk already and so many people forget about that. peeps holding supreme power for reducing warn should realise that it's better for the sake of the rotwk community that duck doesn't get banned from gr again lol

Fraps is the most popular way as far as I know so I'll assume it's the best way . I already got all of this stuff, I should try doing a commentary soon .

No your right Duck is a major part of our community but you have to keep in mind that there set rules for the site and we all have to abide by them, Gr is a privilege for us to use not a right.

Duck, if you keep on contribution, you are eligible for early warn reductions, you know that? You just have to point out where you contributed to the moderator, because the moderator cannot know that most of the time.
here and here and does bossing a very active forum count lol?
anyway so we've got me blue cong and lilbubba who've done a shoutcast before for rotwk so perhaps we'd all be interested in doing like 1 a month or every once in a while or something and we'd get quite a decent VOD section going if the game/shout-casts are popular then other random people might start doing some which would make it even better!! or perhaps other staff members with too much time on their hands lol - thorin? blacky? amber? etc?

and i want to hear your sexy voice too evo
haha, last time I did that I was told I sounded sexy and they wanted me to talk dirty to em, never again.
you've done a shoutcast/commentary!?!? where?!?? and i'm fairly sure if we get regular commentaries from different members being posted all the time then there will be hardly any comments about voice accents etc and comments will mainly be about the content or quality or entertainment factor of the vod like in the active vod forums on gr.

If we can get a couple of people doing them regularly, that would be great . Our goal is to hire some commentators whose jobs would be to do those to ensure that we get a commentating section up and running well.

I'd take that as a compliment from guys tbh if I was a girl (just don't actually listen to what they say ).
I'm working on a special video first btw first for a slightly different purpose Truck. Once I get that out of the way I'll see what I can do for commentaries.
