So I've been experimenting a fair amount with trolls, and it turns out they're a lot better then people think. Which is to say that if you're evenly matched and go for them before late game or before you have a lead, if you're on-host you're only 90% going to lose. Or you could just go for naz, and that 10% will be guaranteed and you'll have a pretty good change on the 90% to. So yea, Mountain trolls kind of suck, drummer trolls kind of suck before late game, and ATs are out of reach. Which is I think, a very bad thing. Mordor shouldn't have a building and 2 units completely useless, 1 until late-game and 1 all the time. I don't think the problem is cost, I think the problem is that by the time you get a couple or even one out, you're economy has disappeared. So, proposed changes:
-Troll cage buildtime reduced by ~10 secs -Mountain troll buildtime reduced by 20% (8 secs), cost reduced by 50 -Drummer troll buildtime reduced by 1/6 (10 secs)
Trolls are actually fairly diverse in what you can do with them, require a good amount of micro to use well, and allow for a different unit mix (and therefore many different strats), so I think if you could actually get them it would add a lot to the game. On-host that is, they're about 10x more vulnerable to pikes then cavalry, so off-host there ain't much you can do with them.
erm. mountain trolls are actually pretty sick. They are fast as shit and can self heal with orcs. Mordor isnt supposed to have pierce resistant units, everything Mordor has is ment to die quickly to archers. I actually think they are quite useful against a few armies early game, such as Men and Goblins. Against anything else is fail unless its 2v2. They are great harassment units too.

They're great vs. gobs, but most men players get masses of GAs by the time you're first can come out, and then they're toast. Oh, and drummer trolls are amazingly pierce resistant. Self heal is good but it doesn't work with trees, and you'll need trees because you won't have enough units to defend on their own after sinking resources into trolls early-mid game. Late game they're overshadowed by FB corsairs as harassers.

Can't find existing troll cage build time, pulled that number out of my ass tbh. 2-4 secs won't do anything at all. Drummers come at level 2 and currently have a 60s buildtime.
Trolls are GOOD, almost OP, especially on Udun. I prefer going trolls over Naz.
I'm talking strictly 1v1. They rape gobs, they're good vs. dwarves/men/isen but if he's good he'll put too much pressure on you to let you get them out, and the naz debuff. Haven't tried them in mirrors yet because for some reason I never get that MU, they blow vs. Elves. So basically one MU where they're very good, 3 where they work but I haven't found a BO that will get them out before you're economy is gone, and 1 where they totally suck balls.

You can't talk strictly 1v1, any changes you make to costs and buildtime effect 2v2 as well...
Besides Trolls are perfectly fine in 1v1, it's good that you don't see it in every MU, it's called unit diversity, it promotes different tactics and strategies for different mus.
ATs are amazingly shit. The reason I've justified their immense mediocrity is b/c once they actually get to a fort somehow, they kill it insanely fast. I say change their damage from siege, to something less gay, make them significantly worse vs buildings and buff their HP out the ass. They seriously are just ass backwards and suck.

Drummers are awesome but they're so fucking slow it's not even funny. It takes like 10 seconds once their out of the cage to even be able to move them. They have 50 percent armor bonus..... i think you forget how strong that is
What changes were made to ATs between the last patch and the current one? ATs used to be pretty durable against arrows from my memory. And then rape the forts!

Drummer Troll buildtime is currently 45s (pretty high) so there's reason to discuss reducing that. Mountain/Attack Troll buildtime is 40s for comparison.
