It's been 7 weeks since Morhaime was confident the beta would begin in 2009.
There's only about 10 weeks left.
Any indications from Blizzard the beta is starting?
Any indications Morhaime's "confidence" in a 2009 beta is waning?

Haven't heard anything to indicate that it wouldn't be out in 09. Also 10 weeks is still a pretty long time for them to get things ready.

That's like more than 2 months. You're way too pessimistic.

They'll release it on the 31st of December.

It's scary how quiet it has been lately. The Oompa Loompas must be hard at work in the depths at Blizzard.

the financial guys at Activision have to approve the revenue generating mechanisms put in place with BNet2 and that's a task thats bring together some very diverse personalities within the company.
You know the classic "techie"//"sales guys" thing. Things are probably changing in big ways on a weekly basis, therefore, its probably a waste of time to report on them. This happens as the "financial guy" trade volleys with the "tech guys" and "gaming visionaries".

I'm still confident Blizzard will pull through with a beta this year. My prediction is nothing before Thanksgiving though. Just gonna have to be patient. I'm more worried about getting an actual beta-key, than I am about the beta coming out soon.

Yea I am pretty confident they will actually get the beta out this year. If not then there goes a 2010 release imo

They said the beta will last 4-6 months so I'm pretty sure that December will be the micro massacre month

yea supposidly some guy talked to david kim (like a legit guy took a picture and everything can only do so much to prove it) and he said it would be out November/December was the target. Hoping so as if it does start December we're looking on an early June release (if they really do their 4-6 months and release it right after). If November a sexy may release to where I will almost be in summer. Can only pray

Is it just me, or do all the extra features battle.net is getting make starcraft2 completely kick ass? I mean, if they apply all the things they are doing with b.net2 to what already is in existence with sc1, it would make sc1 that much better. So the longer they take to get bnet up and working correctly is as important as the balance we will be tinkering with in beta. It feels like activision-blizzard is pressuring themselves to release it b4 its ready, but blizz knows that they shouldn't.

Oh it will be kickass its why I am so excited. Even though its frustrating to wait it will be worth it in the end

No, by online replay I mean the ability for multiple people to watch the same replay at the same time online.
