Random or Not?

Do you prefer facing an opponent that has picked his faction ( which probably is his best but you know what faction he is ) or you prefer him to be on random?

I don't care, both have some advantages.

Only thing that is irritating is Good Players who pick dwarf just for rank.

Personally I'm an "all arounder" "jack of all trades" etc, so I play all factions well, maybe nothing exception, and random just inst random enough for me, so I tend to pick Men, then next game elf, then next game I skip dwarf and pick Mordor, then Isen... then gobs... then angmar and just repeat.

I go for men mostly because they are my best faction and i enjoy playing with them the most. I don't mind what my opponent picks, but agreed with Black that it's annoying to see high ranks picking Dwarves just because they are over powered. Which is just nerdy and crappy.

I don't mind which one, unless my opponent keeps picking the same faction over and over again in MU's that are good for him (like him picking Dwarves against Goblins and so on). I don't mind Dwarves much, except on Inn maps, or when my opponent picks them all the time.

I dont mind at all, Myself on the other hand avoid random because 7/10 times I get Dwarves. So I rotate my faction.

If the other player Pickes Dwarves I just say "Lol another dwarves player" and click go.

I always play random, and I don't mind much if my opponent picks his faction except if it's dwarves or elves.

Why would you not pick Dwarves in a competitive ladder?

Is this not a "play to win" league like CW, but instead a "play to win except don't use good strats" league? Picking Dwarves is the best strat I can think of.

Then why would Lindons have been banned in the old 2.01 ClanWars? Surely abusing their bug would be very useful in winning. Why not Fell Wind abuse as well in 2v2s? It would help you win more easily right?

It just ruins the game for other players, so I don't see what's so good about picking Dwarves

In a competitive environment, you want the game to be fair and the winner of a game to win purely because of skill. That's of course never 100% possible, but you would like to strive towards it.

anyway, we know that top 3 doesnt pick dwarves, so it's possible to climb in the ladder without pick them.

lol i hate going random, almost always get dwarves or ang, and while i dont mind ang that much im so tired of dwarves i usually just do a demo rush if i get them. against others i dont mind it too much, though facing dwarves so much is kinda boring

I really understand good players that take Dwarves. There's nothing more frustrating than have made it to the top 10 and being random and then you meet an opponent that pick elves or Dwarves and lames without you can do anything (maybe you got Gobs fx).

Most of them aren't really good, so you shouldn't have a lot of trouble defeating them. The ones that are good and pick Dwarves are just lame in my opinion.
