Hmm, well it now throws a no-cd error when I try to run it. The image I used previously (the one we tell people to use) no longer works. I also tried gamecopyworld with no luck as their image still threw the no-cd error too...
what happened to needing a disc hider? cuz I remember I used to need it but nowdays I don't, just use alcohol 52%, not sure why. Maybe Windows 10 has secret mind tricks that needs disc hider (idk wtf I'm talking about just imagining)
I am using v10, which I never upgraded from and worked in the past.

Tried some disc hider program called sd4_hide, no luck.
I had this problem about 2 months ago as well. The latest version, or any other version apart from version 4.xx (can't remember the exact sub numbers) does not work.
well, that doesn't help either. tried a 2x version.
all the software do the same job, it must be something changed in the system... the last think to think of is to burn a DVD lol and plug the whole thing back
well, it's only the ns-LotrBfMe2EP1_Maxi-poseden image, the image doesn't work anymore, all other Iso's work.
so what I did I extracted the files and created a new iso. now I can mount it but still can't launch the game... it says please inserd DVD-ROM ..
I doubt it's the image itself that causes the problem. As I've mentioned before, I had this problem until I reverted back to the working version. I used that exact CD image and I'm able to launch the game without issues.
So the problem most likely originates from Daemon Tools.
For your convenience here is the version number I use: 4.48.1.03.47. I've tried searching for this version online, and I couldn't find anything legitimate. If you can find and download it, great stuff.

it's not a problem with daemon tools, I've tried even PowerShell to mount it.
If anyone has the original DVDs unedited, now would be a good tine to create an actual ISO...
Yeah I might have to use my original disc for that purpose I think...
Hmm going to look into it. I don't know what on earth Microsoft changed but it affected at least two pieces of software (Daemon Tools Lite & WinCDEmu) not just one.
