More and more news came as from the Official Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars site and from other source. Of course, on of the biggest news for C&C 3 fans is EA press-release about porting the game to Mac OS X. Command and Conquer 3 and other blockbuster titles like Battlefield 2142, Need for Speed Carbon and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will be available in this summer !
Another delicious stuff is about upcoming patch 1.06 which will fixed some issue with 1.05 patch (Securom errors) and a little balance changes (Scrin Mothership over-powering for example). Also, the upcoming patch will improve disconnect reporting.
As regards the ladder`s reset - it will be but at the moment EALA discussing what stats will be reseted and their currently opinion -> "reset your ladder ranking and ladder stats, but not touch your overall stats". We will inform you as soon as possible.
For evolution of RTS as eSport program, EALA partnered with GGL and The USA Army for a big C&C 3 online tournament with thousands of dollars as a prize money. Registration will be opened on or around June 14th.
If you are interesting what Senior Vice President/General Manager of ICM USA (organizers of the WCG USA Championship and related WCG global tournaments) thinking about Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars as the discipline for World Cyber Games, check this interview with Michael Arzt:
"Q: Which game are you most excited about bringing to your competition list, and why? A: I’d have to say it’s a toss-up between Command and Conquer 3 on the PC and Gears of War on the console side. To me, both of these games represent the future of their respective genres and the future of the WCG. Both games are leading the way as far as USA registrations go and that is because of their rabid adoption by the gaming communities. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that both games look truly awesome, with cinematic visuals which makes them more appealing to watch, especially for spectators."
