idea for upgrades

Idk if this is really a good idea or not (probably not), but I think it would be cool.

Decrease the research time for every upgrade to uberfast. Waiting to get your upgrades is just lame imo and takes too long.

What the shit is this. Why is everyone suddenly proposing radical superfluous alterations to the game all of a sudden?


The repercussions of such a change are stupid huge, no-one wants to see Isen getting ups even faster, nobody wants f/u Rohs mid game, nobody wants siege hammers to be better than they are now (already op as fuck) and in general no-one wants to introduce a crazy amount of variables for no fucking reason at all.

He's talking about researching, not the actual upgrading itself.

I'd like to see a change to bring upgrades to mid-game withou being a game breaker.

Which match ups will this ruin? I really don't think it would hurt any match ups.

Btw - If anyone has a problem with Isengard's upgrades, the main reason is Isengard's economy and nerf devastation/industry a bit or something.

Define researching. On units? From buildings? On Forts? Etc, etc. You are being vague and given the nature of the change (unwarranted and erratic) I can only assume you mean all of those, as this being a stupid thing to do would presumably be done in a stupid way.

You don't investigate or discover when you're applying the already purchased upgrade to a unit.

Researching from buildings only. Instant researching on units would be op, with siege hammers in particular, and I would never want that.

I don't want to nerf Isen's powers at all. There are some people who think Isengard's upgrades are too strong and I was just pointing out the reason and stating how it could be fixed. I do not think that this change would make Isengard OP in any way.

This change is not pointless either. Upgrades seem to come too slow to be effective, so most people just spam heroes and that gets tiring. This would make upgrades an option throughout more of the game. If you get an amazing economy you can spend it faster with this.

K, fuck over was a bit strong, but you make it possible to get faster upgrades for what purpose exactly? It also means upping the armory will be less dangerous btw.

what the hell is with these suggestions. The game is FINE. IF you patch do these 3 things ONLY:

-Warg Howl @ lvl 2
- Zerks - Damage Scalar against Guardians OR slight increase to price or buildtime
- Mirkwood Banner Bug Fix

I'm telling you, I wouldn't even mind if a patch didn't come out. The game is FINE.

Idc tongue.gif. rephrasing what I said earlier to - "If you get an amazing economy this is a faster way to spend it."

Btw - you could also counter heroes a lot better like this and quickly upgrade units to end a game, once you gain the advantage. It would hurt your opponent more to lose units, because you could quickly get some FBs and finish their Fortress before they could rebuild. I think it could open more possibilities for strategy and such.

I would consider other changes just as important as balance. Balance is pretty good as it is tbh. Most changes that would fix one match up would just hurt another one. I didn't really expect anything to happen, but I thought I would try anyway.
