Guidelines for the BFME2
General Discussion Forum:

The General Discussion Guidelines are rules in addition to the basic, common sense rules laid out in Site Rules & Guidelines. Please read and understand them before posting in this forum. Welcome to new members! Make sure you read through the Forum Guide for New Members.

The Right Way to Post in General Discussion

1. Be respectful and kind. We are all here to have fun and contribute for the good of the community. This includes treating other people as friends, even in the course of disagreement. Be generous with good advice to posters that obviously need help but do so without a condescending tone. We all were beginners once.

2. Start topics that have substance and create a lively discussion. A great topic starter will set the tone and structure of the discussion to follow. It is pointless to start a thread with a few disconnected sentence fragments and expect it will enhance the forum. The quality of the forum is dependent on the quality of the topics.

3. Create an accurate topic title! Some topics get hundreds, sometimes thousands of views. If your topic doesn't have a descriptive title that is accurate, you are wasting the time of many people. Your title should give the forum surfer a very good clue as to what the subject of the topic is without needing to open it.

Things not to post in General Discussion

1. Please don't make a new topic if there is already a topic about the same thing on the forum. This is the most common mistake new members (and some experienced members) make.

Use the great search feature at the bottom left of your screen
to find out if there are recent threads covering the topic. For organizational sake, we only need one active thread for each. On the other hand, we don't need to dredge up ancient dead topics that ended months ago and reflect outdated thinking of the game. Start a new topic in such cases.

2. Please don't ask faction specific questions (e.g. Nazgul usage, beating a dwarven rush as MotW, etc.) that are best answered in the Strategy Forums.

3. Post replays you are submitting for a review in the appropriate forum in the Replays Section. You may also seek faction specific advice by posting the replay in a strategy forum thread for replays. However, if you want to use a replay to help illustrate a posting in a General Discussion thread, please do.

4. Use the BFME 2 Tech Support Forum to ask questions that deal with your hardware or software.

5. Any discussion specific to how clan wars works, joining clans, recruiting for clans, go to the Clan Wars Discussion.

6. If you want to report a bug in BFME 2, do so only in this thread, Bugs: Report them here.

7. Among the most popular topics is discussion on multiplayer game balance. These issues might have relevance to future patches by EA. However, we don't want discussions of units/heroes being overpowered (OP) and underpowered (UP) and balance issues clogging up dozens of topics. Only post about balance problems between the factions for multiplayer games in the Official Balance thread.

8. If you have a complaint about the GameReplays site, or the actions of its admins or mods, please send a PM (personal message) to a mod or admin with your concern. It is not appropriate to start topics of complaint in public forum. Please give the staff a chance to address your concern directly. If you have constructive feedback to give, try posting it in the Site Feedback/Improvement Discussion

Advanced Discussion Forum

The Advanced Discussion Forum is exclusive to "Senior Soldiers" only. These are members that show that they know how to debate in a good way. smile.gif If you show your quality in the General Discussion forum as a mature and active gamer, you will be allowed to post here. When the game admin promotes you, you join the member group of "Senior Soldiers".

Staff members can nominate people. Please do not ask admins to be nominated unless you have a proven track record of posting good replays or participating in quality game or strategy discussions. We will not promote anyone who is not known to the staff. In order to get known, get posting intelligently! It is a "right of passage" to first earn respect by intelligently posting in the General Discussion forum and other forums while also following the rules.

Admins and Moderators will enforce the rules of this forum and site. Penalties are fully described in the
Site Rules & Guidelines.
