This was officially released three days ago, amid considerable consternation from the community regarding chosen release date. It has since been confirmed that both Outpost on Fire 3 and The eXperience 09 will use the new version.

The mod is built on the original Promodlive v1 written by Carlisle, and features no major gameplay changes - only bug fixes and UI improvements.

Promodlive v2

Fully functional shoutcaster overlay for all resolutions and aspect ratios

Class loadouts are preserved in the rank file

Class related binds

Enhanced client- and server-security

Small changes/improvements to the hud and menus

Players left-HUD is rebuilt and therefore it is possible to get rid off for those nice-looking frag-movies

Full Hardcore-mode support, including support for all gametypes, HC mode will also use cook-nades

Red enemy crosshair glitch through smoke fixed

Added a strat mode (promod_mode strat) with nadetraining possibility, similar to AM4PAM

Client-side scorebot functionality implemented, similar to the PAM4 scorebot.

Disabled ammo-sharing between SMG and M9 Beretta, as well as reduced weapon switch on M16

All taunt sounds have been removed

The current release version is Promodlive v2.02 RC2 which we can expect to be updated over the new few days as minor bugs are cleared up.
Call of Duty 4 News - Team Pure E-Sports moves forward

The Call of Duty 4 staff of Gamereplays.org had the opportunity to interview the leader of Pure E-Sports just a few days ago. They are a highly competative CoD4 team currently ranked second best in all of North America behind team Pandemic. The team itself has recently suffered a few departures such as Rob-Wiz and Limitless moving to team Pandemic, while their third starter, CartR is still recovering from a car accident. Thankfully, they picked up three quick subsitutes: TayloRRR, MasterAlex and Flak. With the new team, Pure E-Sports plans to attend OutPost Onfire and The Experience, which are the LAN games that will be hosted in Europe this summer. The team informed Gamereplays.org that they will be leaving for these games on July 20th in order to make it to OOF begining on July 24th. Snatcch, the team leader and our interviewee for our upcomming feature said the following to Gotfrag.com:

We're planning on boot camping at flak's place for a few days before we depart to Europe. Once in Antwerp, we're going to meet up with fnatic and some other teams and practice for 2 days before OOF begins, then we travel to Denmark to participate in TEX.

Our plan with the team is to practice our ends off so that once we leave we'll be quite confident in every strat that we create. Hopefully our preparation will bring us success in Europe.

Pure E-Sports will represent the United States in Europe this summer and they will be the only North American team to be there. We at Gamereplays.org wish the team well for their upcomming LAN games and we also send our regards to CartR who is still recovering from an automobile accident. As stated above, Gamereplays.org had the opportunity to interview Snatcch before his team departed for Europe. This will likely be one of the few major interviews they manage to perform before leaving, so please take the opportunity to read at least a few of the comments made by Snatcch tomorrow (Wednesday, July 1st) at 12:00 PM Eastern Time (GMT - 5:00)

Current roster for Pure E-Sports

Eric "snatcch" Brinkley (Leader)
Taylor "TayloRRR" Sheridan
Alexander "MasterAlex" Solis
Alex "Flak" Lasselle
Joshua "gladia7or" Adams
Carter "COACH" Salley (6th man)

View the full article at Gotfrag.com
To discuss this upcomming interview with the CoD4 community, click here

Call of Duty 4 News - Storm the Front again!

Before the finals for the first season of Storm the Front, the hosting company CM Storm has been so pleased with the response, they have announced a second season. The grand finale between TBH.MSI and H2k is the only remaining match for the first season.

The first Storm the Front tournament has been well received by the community. Widely applauded for its free entry, double elimination format and HUGE prize purse for being an online-only tournament. For the uninitiated, double elimination means each team can lose twice before being out of the tournament. The main bracket is played, the loser in each match going into a second 'loser' bracket. The grand final is between the winner of the winner bracket and the loser bracket. Two maps are scheduled in the final, however the winner bracket entry only need to win one of these to take the overall tournament. From the first season, TBH.MSI won the winner bracket, while H2k reached the final from the loser bracket.

The prizes for the tournament are €1000 and a whole host of hardware goodies from the main sponsor, CoolerMaster.

First Place:

€600

5x CM Storm Scout

5x CM Storm Sentinel Advance

5 x Pro gaming grade Storm Pad

5 x DFI LANPARTY DK 790FXB M3H5 MB

Second Place:

€400

5 x CM Storm Sentinel Advance

5 x GeIL EVO Cyclone

5 x GeIL Black Dragon DDR2-1066 C5 2Gx2

Third Place:

5 x Pro gaming grade Storm Pad

5 x GeIL EVO Cyclone

5 x GeIL Black Dragon DDR2-800 C4 2Gx2

Entry is free and the tournament size will be as large as possible, depending on the number of teams that enter.
Call of Duty 4 News - CoD TV announced for WaW

A few days ago it was announced that Treyarch will be including a code-hook for CoD TV in the v1.5 patch for Call of Duty World at War. CoD TV is a system which allows players to stream their gameplay to others at much lower bandwidth costs than traditional streaming. You would watch the stream through the game client too, meaning no low definition fuzzy streams. It would be the equivalent of players using the /record command, while the content is streamed directly to other players rather than being saved to a file on the local hard disk.

The code has been around since the original Call of Duty, however it fell by the wayside and has only recently been picked up again by Activision and Treyarch. Garetjax, the man behind the original PAM mod for Call of Duty and the original CoD TV too, spoke to BASHandSlash.com shortly after the support was announced.

He spoke about how the service will compliment existing stream sites such as QuadV.com and e-rev.tv, also including the ability for shoutcasters to layer a commentary over the top of streams. ''Whatever the medium is, as long as it's easier for the players and teams to broadcast, and they add their voice, I think it's good for everyone.'' He was unable to comment on Modern Warfare 2, except to say that ''there has been discussion,'' in a hopeful tone of voice.

CoD TV would be a major bonus for the competetive side of the Call of Duty series, and if it proves successful in boosting WaW's already lacklustre competetive aspect then we can cross our fingers in hope that Activision will push Infinity Ward to include CoD TV support in MW2. You can check out CoD TV as it progresses on Garetjax's CoD TV website.

You can view the official patch notes for CoD WaW v1.5 here.

Call of Duty 4 News - Modern Warfare 2: The Footage

A couple of weeks ago, the E3 Expo gaming convention took place. Now that the veritable storm of information has died down we are pleased to bring you an overview of the interviews, demos and all the juicy details that can be gleamed from them regarding the upcoming release of the hotly anticipated Modern Warfare 2.

Infinity Ward arrived at E3 intending to push out information on the single player and a little about the ‘Special Ops’ co-op mode, however they refused to comment on the multiplayer aspect of the game. A mission named ‘Cliffhanger’, set in the Tian Shan mountain range in northern Kazakhstan was presented for this E3 outing.

The first major gameplay unveiling took place at the Microsoft Press Conference. The link leads you to a play-through for a live audience and features cut-out sections. This stream is recommended if you just want a quick preview of the gameplay.

Interviews
The community manager at Infinity Ward, Robert ‘Four-two-zero’ Bowling, then gave various interviews to G4tv.com and Gamespot.com. The interviews are interspersed with gameplay footage from the mission.

First interview for G4tv, the day after the Microsoft Press Conference.

The Gamespot Interview features a full play-through of ‘Cliffhanger’ and is the longest, uncut footage available at this time. If you only watch one of these, make it this one.

The second G4tv interview is the shortest, but features a few further gameplay confirmations, however no in-game footage is shown which is not already available elsewhere.

Direct feed gameplay footage
Pure gameplay video, this features no interview - just a full play through the mission, sans the ice-climbing intro. This is ideal if you want to hear the game sound effects and character communications more clearly.

While much of E3 has simply further confirmed our suspicions and guesses from previous information, there are few new points we can add to the ever-growing list that will help us understand how MW2 is shaping up.

Awards
The cherry on top for Infinity Ward’s E3 outing was their acceptance of the world record for the 'Most Played Xbox Live game', with over 1.3 million people logging on to join the fragfest. The guys accepted their award at Activision's booth on 2nd June.

Courtesy of Flickr

The award will be listed in the Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition 2010, to be released early next year.

The CoD4 staff here at GR have been poring over each and every piece of footage released from E3 in order to compile an ongoing list of the things we can expect from MW2. We will be publishing this factfile very soon, so stay tuned and watch this space for the latest news on MW2!

Call of Duty 4 News - Ups and Downs - Team YoYoTech

Team YoYoTech has lived up to their name in recent weeks, with both the players and organisation seemingly unsure whether they are staying, coming or going. To say it has been a bumpy ride of late, would be an understatement.

Issues kicked off a couple of weeks ago when YYT’s second team was unceremoniously booted from the organisation due to their taking part in ButtonBashers’ Bash the Summer Away tournament: a tournament where the first prize was to become the new ButtonBashers. The debacle was met with widespread scorn and debates about line of respect and gratitude from the community.

All was not lost, as YYT still had their first team, which made a surprise showing in the Grand Final of i36 and have since shown great potential with impressive performances both online and at LANs. Thus it came as a shock to the wider majority when the first team announced their departure from active play and disbanding the team effective immediately. A multitude of reasons were cited, including changes in the line-up, motivational issues and difficulties in achieving stability with practice regimes, and money issues.

Team YoYoTech’s lightning slide from having two reasonably stable teams to suddenly having no players representing them certainly was a shock, the organisation sent reeling amid the upheaval. The community waited eagerly to see what Team YoYoTech’s next move would be. They were not disappointed. Given the scandalous nature of the second team’s departure, it was surprising to hear the news that this second team had been not only reinstated, but also promoted to become Team YoYoTech’s first team.

The team has undergone line-up changes since their departure a few weeks ago. The changes come in the form of James ''Scorp'' Long leaving to be replaced by Ryan ''Moff'' Moffit, taking up Scorp’s SMG in his stead.

From statements given on the YoYoTech website it appears the current players and organisation have buried the hatchet, with places at the summer LANs lined up where the new YoYoTech Dragons hope to put the past to bed and show us they have a bright future.

Phil ''Philzr'' Kearney gave this statement on YYT’s website.

''Firstly just want to say thanks to YoYoTech for giving us a second chance, we knew how lucky we were to be YYT's team 2 and have the support they offered and we are determined to make it up to them. Also see you at LAN and big shout-out to vVv.''

The YoYoTech Dragons line-up is now as follows:

Marc ''DeAtH-'' Hardwick

Alex ''Streetz'' Carmody

Phil ''Philzr'' Kearney

Reg ''Batzor'' Morgan

Ryan ''Moff'' Moffitt

GameReplays.org wishes the new YoYoTech Dragons the best of luck with the upcoming summer LANs.

Call of Duty 4 News - Just Bashing their Buttons

The eSports scene is still relatively young and ever changing, as such few organisations successfully tread the path of stability and prolonged success. However, ButtonBashers is a name familiar to anyone who follows competitive gaming.

In recent weeks, the longtime and well decorated ButtonBashers Call of Duty 4 line-up disbanded, and it was with baited breath that the community waited to see the organisation’s next move. It was announced that an online tournament would be hosted, named Bash the Summer Away, a decision taken largely to give lesser known players a chance to break into the major scene, hopefully uncovering new talents and fresh faces.

The idea began tentatively, however following growing support from the community, TosspoT (ButtonBashers General Manager) decided to increase its starting pool to 32 teams. The matches were drawn into a single elimination bracket, all played as a best of three across mp_Crash, mp_Strike and mp_Backlot, taking place over two action-packed evenings. The prize for winning was to don the ButtonBashers tag, securing financial backing to attend the big three summer LANs (Outpost on Fire 3, The-eXperience and the UKeSA finals) plus a €1000 cash bonus.

The entrant teams ranged from completely unknown to well recognised faces, such as Team Four and a Half Men to the former Team Speedlink. From the outset, the tournament was shrouded in controversy, with allegations of cheating flying around and YoYoTech’s second team entering under the false moniker Team Aoki, against the express wishes of their organisation, resulting in their immediate termination from YYT. Many issues regarding cheating only apply in online tournaments and while this is a wider issue outside the scope of this post, TosspoT commented on this aspect of the cup on his blog.

The tournament witnessed many great matches with many running into overtime, as battles were hard-fought and narrowly won. As expected however, Four and a Half Men were dominant throughout, their prowess clearly on display as they dispatched each opponent without losing a map. Last night, Four and a Half Men took the final from DOK Gaming, winning 13-5 on mp_Crash and 13-11 on mp_Strike. Thus the new ButtonBashers line-up for the upcoming summer LANs is as follows:

Chris "nreo" Mead

Ryan "dUffER" Duffy

Davy "Davy" Sysmans

Ralph "qwertYYY" Balder

Daniel "L-KiNG" Luther

Jasdev "JUSZN" Virdee (ESL backup)

Joshua "twrs" Towers (manager)

Although this side is relatively new in playing together, individually they all bring a wealth of experience to the table with Fatgames, Infused, Tek-9, H2k and SK-Gaming all present in their collective previous teams. GameReplays.org wishes the new ButtonBashers team the best of luck in the upcoming summer events, and looks forward to many great games ahead.

Full match details for Bash the Summer Away
Catch the Grand Final between Four and a Half Men and DOK Gaming here!

Call of Duty 4 News - Modern Warfare 2 Single-Player Demo at E3

Today, the first day of E3 2009, Infinity Ward's Vince Zampella and Jason West revealed the first single-player mission for the highly anticipated Modern Warfare 2. The following video doesn't unveil much about the game in terms of new gameplay changes, however you do get to see new weapons, vehicles, graphics, and physics integrations in action. In a recent interview Robert Bowling added that Infinity Ward plans to release much more content throughout E3, so stay tuned here to GameReplays for more coverage. In the meantime, you can also watch the new Modern Warfare 2 reveal trailer.

Mission: 'Cliffhanger'
Day 2 - 7:35:56
Sgt. Gary "Roach" Sanderson
Task Force 141
Tian Shan Range, Kazakhstan

Pt. I

You are playing through the eyes of Sgt. Gary "Roach" Sanderson and find yourself atop a cliff alongside Captain 'Soap' McTavish, who is making a return from the previous Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The subsonic force of fighter jets passing overhead causes a minor avalanche above you as you ascend to the top of the cliff with only a pair of ice axes and crampons. The end of Part I, you leap after McTavish over a blind jump and nearly plummet to your death.

Pt. II

Armed with a silenced weapon (judging by the reload animation to be an AK-variant or possibly a M4 Carbine) and a heartbeat-detecting device to guide you through the whiteout, the two of you find yourselves right in enemy territory. Your objective is to move into the base as quietly as possible and destroy their fueling station with C4.

Pt. III

You are now seen retreating as multiple infantry begin closing in. Not only do you have to deal with enemy crossfire from all directions, but you also must fend off snowmobiles. McTavish leads you across a small airfield and you're soon able to hijack two of them. Then its an intense chase down the mountainside with only a Glock pistol to keep enemies from knocking you off your snowmobile. Once you make it to the awaiting Bravo rescue team, the mission is over.

Here is a Day 2 update in which G4TV interviewed Robert Bowling. Neither does this video reveal much about multiplayer or anything important, however Bowling did mention that Infinity Ward is saving that area of pre-release content for later on because "it's going to be huge".
