New UEF Characters

IPB Image

Name: C. Allen Riley II
Rank: President & EarthCom Commander-in-Chief
Age: 54
Faction: United Earth Federation

One overarching goal has dictated President Riley's 10-year tenure as President of the United Earth Federation: ending the Infinite War. Administrative records indicate that Riley hopes to achieve this goal by aggressively attacking the enemy along two fronts.

A data cull from UEF quantum communications reveals an distinct increase in the UEF-generated propaganda directed against both the Aeon Illuminate and the Cybran Nation. Said propaganda has resulted in substantial increases in the morale and allegiance of systems along the outer rim of UEF-controlled space.

In addition, an increase of 7.6893% of the UEF's annual budget has been directed to defense and military spending. Under Riley's authority, significant improvements have been made to all aspects of the UEF military, and the amount of money funneled into "black op" weapons has dramatically increased. Unable to provide additional information.

All available polling data suggests that Riley maintains a high degree of popularity in the eyes of both the civilian sector and the military. A closer examination of the data reveals that this is largely a result of Riley's spotless military record as a former UEF Commander and his reputation for cutting through bureaucracy; cross-referencing parallel polling data streams suggests that Riley's approval ratings are 12.0007% higher at this point in his presidency than any of his predecessors.

Unknown to all but President Riley's closest inner-circle is the fact that Riley is now suffering from a degenerative spinal disorder. All medical records concerning the condition are outside the scope of this facility; however, information pulled from third-party pharmaceutical data streams indicate that Riley is consuming a large amount of pain killers.

Name: Samantha Clarke
Rank: General
Age: 49
Faction: United Earth Federation

The daughter of Stephen Clarke, acknowledged hero of the battle of Nova Prime, General Samantha Clarke made a binding offer to join the United Earth Federation military at age 16 and enlisted on her 18th birthday. Early service records indicate Clarke volunteered for the least-attractive duties, demonstrating that she was determined to succeed without trading on her father's name.

As one of the youngest Commanders in UEF history, Clarke fought in campaigns that stretched across numerous systems. Medical logs indicate that she was injured during the bitterly contested, nine-month battle for Scorpii 18; she was one of the few survivors to emerge from that conflict.

UEF security systems record two assassinations attempts against Clarke, both of which were initiated by the Cybran Nation. Both attempts met with failure and the capture of the Cybran agents involved.

The highest-ranking officer in the UEF, Clarke directs all aspects of the UEF's campaign from her war room on Earth.

Clarke looks more like she's 29 not 49. Pfft those games...

And Riley looks more like GI Joe, not a president. Not very believable story post-13661-1143531603.gif

ur callin the story crap cus of ther concept arts

u probably wont even see them up close in teh cutscenes, da real storyline starts with teh sucpom, and all the uber quantum tunneling

this is just filler story stuff to make it seem more padded out

gameplay is being put way before story, wich is great news

EA r tryin to make an uber storyline, and the gameplay so far sucks, supcom will own it for years of competative multiplayer

So you have allready played C&C3 to say that gameplay sucks....allright. Oh and you also have a level 3 farsight ability that sees that supcom will be a great game for compettitive play.

Okay either that or lvl 10 biased bullshit

I can not see anything wrong with the pictures. I mean this is the future. Why would the futur be a carbon copy of the present? Samantha Clarke could easly be 49 years old. Why whould she age at the same speed as a person from the year 2000? Heck i have seen those that are older then her to day that looks younger. And why can not C. Allen Riley II be the president? Heck if terminator can be Governer then why not C. Allen Riley II president?

Sound like some are complaning just for complaning sake.

well its true that the absolute #1 priority of the supcom designers is gameplay, but that doesnt mean the story will be bad, and it doesnt look like that imo
To compare it to the best story telling rts game, it definately wont be as good as howeworld cataclysm storywise, and will definately be more then 10 times better than TAs storyline (which doesnt mean THAT much)
we´ll see..... but the background is presented better than i expected so far. ACtually the story isnt the point in the end, its if they present their universe believably, and that doesnt look bad atm.

The male character reminds me of an american mid 1900s poster boy marine or something. Nothing stands out about the female character. Looks like more modern generic sci fi. I personaly prefer the Heinlien retro style terran military and it looks like this faction will be similar to it.

The Clarke stroy line looks like it's going to follow the Homeric style.
The General is just 'one of the boys'... Eats the same food, fights the same wars, suffers the same injuries.

Riley will go mad taking his pain killers or die. Clarke will have to take over. Ring-a-ding-ding of Shakespear. It be nice to see them go into alot of depth with the Characters and not just depth in the story, like what alot of games do. You know why your fighting but not who's fighting.

All in all, I'd be more worried about gameplay than stories.
SupCom looks like it has excellent gameplay (Maybe too big tho smile.gif )

I find it hard to believe earth is still important, i mean after 1000 or so years youd think there wouldnt be much left of earth. I mean after 100+ years of industrialisation we have used up almost half of all our fossil fuels....
