Welcome to the 14th Tip of the Week for Zero Hour! This week's tip, which I wrote, covers the Gattling Tank's ability to progressively shoot faster, and how to utilize it in battle. We all hope you enjoy!
The Gattling Tank is, quite arguably, the most useful unit for China. It is cheap, has decent speed, and is effective against infantry, aircraft, and light vehicles. This makes it a multi- talented early game attacker, and a strong support unit later on. Gattling Tanks are unique in that, during engagement, their turret will continue to shoot faster and faster, allowing them to do more damage in a smaller period of time. If anyone remembers the Gattling weaponry from Yuri's Revenge, it is very similar in this regard. You can tell that they are speeding up when they say something such as "Rapid Fire!" When their turret starts smoking, they have reached maximum speed.
Luckily for you China players, you can take advantage of this aspect of the Gattling Tank, even before attacking the enemy units. Since Gattling Tanks will continue to speed up while firing, no matter what it is, force- firing is a very effective way to get your Gattling Tanks to do more damage right out of the gate.
When you are controlling your Gattling Tanks, and you see an enemy unit or units coming, simply force- fire on the ground to have your Gattling Tanks start shooting. When the enemy unit(s) come near the Gattling Tanks, attack them with the Gattling Tanks, which should be doing a bit more damage now that they are shooting faster.
Of course, always make sure that, while the Gattling Tank is firing at the ground, the turret is aimed towards the unit you will be trying to kill. You don't want to have the turret aimed somewhere else, because then, by the time the Gattling Tank starts shooting at said enemy unit, the Gattling Tank may have already been attacked, or the unit may have reacted to seeing your Gattling Tank and ran away. Keeping the turret towards your enemy's units is helpful for decreasing the time between giving an order for a Gattling Tank to attack and it actually firing.
Oftentimes, this strategy can mean the difference between just damaging your enemy unit(s) or killing them outright. This is especially useful against the fast, light- armored vehicles that the USA and GLA rely on, such as Humvees or Technicals. This can affect all types of matchups, though. For example, in a battle between two Gattling Tanks and two Quad Cannons, the Quads will usually win, since they do their full damage when they start shooting, whereas Gattling Tanks need to spin up. However, if your Gattling Tanks are already firing faster than normal when you begin the engagement, the odds will shift in your favor. Quite obviously, this doesn't have too much of an effect against tanks, since Gattling Tanks barely touch them. However, this can be useful against air units, such as Chinooks, Helixes, and MiGs. Note that Gattling Cannons are much the same, although they take much less time to spin up fully.

Excellent little technique! I use it a lot when hiding behind supplies vs USA, when his humvee gets close to chaseyou away, he has to get really close before he can start shooting, giving your gatt more time to shoot.
Nice tip I've heard about it before, but never bothered to actually try it Next time I'm trying to kill that pesky tech/vee running round my base raping my trucks and dozers, I'll try it.
Nice tip again Murder, but how often players resarch gatling upgrade in WF(I think it will improve demage or so...) I dont use it althouth its a good upgrade:
Force-firing can also increase the rate-of-fire for some units, such as the Gattling Tank. By force-firing onto the ground, its revolutions will increase to its peak, then when an enemy unit comes into its range, it will deal noticeably more damage via clicking upon the enemy unit, commanding it to stop, using guard-mode or even attack-move.

I rarely get that upgrasde, although it's nice in 2v2/3v3 games with Air Force.
Nice tip...I know this one but..if u play vs good USA, he will hold enough distanc from your gatts and go around them so they will have to change the fron fire and positions so vees are gonna strike u...so.... ...what will u recommend?
