"Yeah, he took it out just now," Lisa told us. "He'd never played the game before and he's just won it. I'm assuming he's got some talent in a game similar to Command & Conquer 3 and he's stepped in and thought, 'hey, I can do this one as well!'" As it turns out, she was correct. Bauman had never played the game before Saturday, managing to fend off the pros on the Sunday finals. We pulled him aside to chat about his shock win and how he got involved.
"Yesterday was my first time playing it. Originally, I just wanted to try the game out to see if I wanted to buy it; I had to join the tournament to play it, so I said, okay, I'll join it - I'll play, I'll get my arse kicked and go home and buy it if I like it!'
But things didn't pan out that way. "And I won! And I kept winning! I play a lot of other RTS games and most RTS games are based around resource gathering, so once you can figure out how to gather resources and can stop the other person from gathering resources, it gets pretty easy."
Haha, WCG AU continues to prove that those with the contract to operate it are completely unable to do the job.
CnC3 was never part WCG Australia's allocation when it was announced in April. Even a month ago, it hadn't been announced that there WILL be a CnC3 tournament.
Now this, which is horrific and I can only imagine was a decision made less than a couple of weeks ago.
Now Australia will be disgraced and finish close to last in Seattle
The whole thing was farcical, you couldn't register before the event and could only register in person...
WCG Canada for CnC3 had regional qualifiers, WCG "Australia" for CnC3 was nothing more than a local LAN.
Shame how people like IGN talk this up as being a good thing?

PSS: poor Trojan.
Poor Australians who actually play the game online!
We shouldn't take anything away from the winner though, he could only play against the people who were there to compete against him and he can't be blamed for rubbish organisation! The mention of the Bradbury Principle is a little bit wide of the mark however, they didn't fall over, they didn't start the race
I dunno what sucks more, that Australia has 0 chance of doing well in the WCG or that i wouldve had a good shot at winning at the qualifiers if i had known >_>
