Hello all. I thought I'd post up a little treat for all the people who think the uniforms and vehicles in Company of Heroes just don't look "right". There are many mods out there which change how the units in Company of Heroes look, but the problem is many don't even know they exist, and even MORE people don't know how to install them. I've tried to remedy the situation by compiling some of the best Unit Skins I've found over the internet into an easy to install .Sga file that is literally as easy as "Copy and Paste" install. Credit for these skins goes to DoctorLee and Halftrack, from the RelicNews modding forums, I've just compiled their skins together and added my own touches to make the skins even better. Also, for the more "technically inclined", I've added a much much smaller file which you can install yourself, but isn't quite as simple as "Copy and Paste".
This mod changes all the uniforms for every vehicle and unit in the game, for every army, making them more historically accurate, and making them just look damn cool! Here are some screenshots:
Whermacht:
Panzer Elite:
(Note: The PG skin's weird camo pants are removed in the download version, that is an older pic. He now looks like this )
British:
American:
As you can see, many of the uniforms have been totally revamped, some have just minor changes, and of course, all vehicles have had their annoying "blue and red" team color stripes taken off them. For me, these skins made COH that much more fun to play and watch, and I wanted to share that with the community.
Now, there are two ways of installing this mod. The easy way, where you need to download a very large file, but installation is easier, or the harder way, where you have to install the skins yourself using an installer, but the file is much much smaller.
Option 1: -Download the skins here(warning, very large file size): http://files.filefront.com/WW2Artsga/;8951102;/fileinfo.html -Now, while that is downloading, first go to THQ\Company of Heroes\WW2\Archives and look for a file named "WW2art.sga" Copy this file and either rename it "WW2artBAK.sga" or simply keep its name and move it to a seperate folder. This is the backup of your original WW2art.sga file in case you want the original skins back or you need to patch. (If you skip this step you will not be able to patch the game) -Once that is done, take the downloaded WW2art.sga file, extract it to a folder you create and can easily find. Then take the file and paste it into the WW2\Archives folder. Easy as that, its all done and you should be able to see them AND play online with them!
***IMPORTANT*** Whenever you have to patch, simply rename the modded WW2art.sga that you downloaded and put in your COH directory to something like "WW2artMOD.sga" or something and then rename your "WW2artBAK.sga", your original file that you backed up, back to just "WW2art.sga". This is because for whatever reason CoH won't patch unless the game is clean of all mods, meaning these skins. Remember, this works 100% online and you shouldn't encounter any errors!
-Download this skininstaller http://files.filefront.com/skininstaller09...;/fileinfo.html -Go to THQ\Company of Heroes\WW2\Archives and look for a file named "WW2art.sga" copy this file and rename it to "WW2artBAK.sga" or simply move it to a different folder and keep its name. This is the backup of your original WW2art.sga file in case you want the original skins back or you need to patch. (If you skip this step you will not be able to patch the game) -Once you've downloaded both files and put them in seperate folders, run the skin installer. Where it says "COH Location", choose "Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes" (Or whatever your main directory for COH is). For "Skin Location", choose "My Uniforms Mix\ww2\data" Once both those fields have been filled, start the skin installer. Pe patient, it can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 45 minutes, so I'd advise you start it and go watch TV, go outside, or browse the internet, because it takes a while. Once it is done, start up COH, and everything should work perfectly!

Now, go enjoy your skins! Once again, credit goes to Halftrack and DoctorLee for making these skins! I've simply compiled and put them here with easy install instructions and made a few slight skin modifications. Have fun and leave a comment!

I'm an idiot and cant find the damn old art file. Can someone help me.
OK. double click my computer. Double click drive C:. Double click program files. Double click THQ. Double click company of heroes. Double click WW2. Double click archives. The file should be just sitting there waiting for ya to rename it
Biggest letdown is the lack of swastikas imo. Some1 needs to mod in blue or green eyes for all German units and put some swastikas in the game tbh.
Some people are confused about the term "aryan". By just making the germans have blue or green eyes would be dumb. The british, being northern european and of saxon(nordic) decent were also considered to be of the aryan race, just a sub branch. Also white Americans being mostly of english and german background would be the same so in all honesty everyone in the game would blue or green eyes. During WWII the percentage of blue eyed people were actually similar in all 3 countries. While now in America and probably in Europe blue eyes are declining due to mixing with darker races in which the more dominant alleles cover up the recessive blue.
