I'm french, then i'm going to sumup and translate the matter in english.

-According to TOW it's obvious that Leo has pointpushed to get into the top 8 helped with Bapor and redfury.

-Timeofwar, a famous french website about RTS games (which is also responsible of the french WCG qualifications for KW) has decided to DQ Leo , Bapor and redfury for PP (Point Pushing).

-The rules are simple about that special case:

"2. Les comptes EA des joueurs inscrits seront régulièrement vérifiés afin de détecter toute manoeuvre illicite (=pushing) visant à doper votre classement. Tout comportement suspect ou illicite sera synonyme de disqualification. "

Translation:

"2. EA accounts of any registered players are regulary checked in order to detect possible pushing aiming a ranking improvment. Any suspicious or illicit behaviour will end up as a disqualification"

I guess knolz will be happy...

Some random person PM'ed me with evidence that indicated Leo had point pushed. I had not made any conclusions thus far, but on the surface it looks slightly like point pushing. I am NOT going to jump to a conclusion though, because people (espically Leo) deserves the benefit of the doubt, innocent until proven guilty. I would like Leo to release an official statement to us here. - Khufu

For what it's worth, bapor admitted in one of the french forums that he lost his games on purpose to leo, those were not real games but freewins.
The real shame here is that since unleashed got kicked out leo didn't even need those freewins, and we all know he's good enough to deserve that spot anyway - without this push he would probably have crushed the competition in the french wcg like he did last year.

It's an error, i will explain tomorow. No prove, Leo have no speak, leo no need points etc... Timeofwar dont want see the rank 1 & rank 2 fr in wcg. Why, i dont know actually.

I disagree with you Bapor. I think Leo needs to make a statement. If he is innocent than there is no reason he can't publicly say so and explain the situation himself.

Leo did get 3 free wins from point pushing but it was after the season 2 deadline, in other words he would have qualified without it and this had no impact on him qualifying for season 2.

As a result the players involved in this have been banned from the French WCG qualifying stage as its stated in the WCG French organiser's rules that all personas will be verified regually.

Its a shame because Bapor and Leo were favourites to win it.

It was an error of judgement on Leo's part and at the worst possible moment, but I think he will learn from it and move on and hopefully we'll see him for next years WCG.

It doesn't matter, it's still against the rules.

And using the "the quali was over" excuse will get him nowhere, seeing as it's not over at all (still got 2 qualis to go, and the points he got from those games will obviously help him)

Leo never struck me as a guy who would cheat, but oh well.

How do you know when the actual games are played though>? They could have easily been played prior to the deadline and due to server lag, not registered on the official ladder until after the deadline.

In my opionion it doesn't matter in the slightest when the games were played. The ladder isn't over yet.

Me neither, but it doesn't suprize me in the slightest what people would do for money and I'm not going to judge him for that. But like I said I think he will learn from it and move on and I don't think he will do it again, I'm pretty confident about that.



Thats a good point, but I was just pointing out they way it worked out in the end was that those matchs didn't count for qualifying for season 2 but the points will help for for the following season as BBQ pointed out.

I have just had a long talk with Leo. He explained his position and what exactly transpired. As you can see in the chat, he did something unethical, openly admits it, and is very sorry for it. Since most people here can't read the french forums and as such can't separate facts from "someguy told me that", I'm going to correct a few errors in what leo says in this msn conversation (these are facts supported with a link to the corresponding message each time, and if you can't understand french at all there is still google translate or whatever). This should also help with the fact that most french players can't speak english very well.

- There have been 5 french tournaments on KW since release, four 1v1 and one 2v2. Leo won only two of the 1v1 tournament (he played in four of the tourneys). This one is a nitpick, but still.

- Although it's true that leo didn't have a live chat via msn/teamspeak/whatever with the WCG admin yet, he did comment on it already on the french forums, his defense being that these pushed games weren't the reason for him being part of the 8 qualified players. (Leo's message about it, + all his messages in the thread)
The french WCG admin thought just like bbq: even if it wasn't usefull to get him qualified this round, it was still cheating. Please also note that the french qualifiers starts this sunday and they couldn't wait indefinitely for leo to be available to make their decision.

- The way they (mostly bapor since leo wasn't online and redfury stayed quiet) justified these fake games changed a lot throughout time;
* at first they said point pushing is a fair move for this season since the whole top 9 do it (link to post)
* then bapor did admit it was freewins, the reason he gave for these freewins was that since there is a smurf rule he needed to lose points on his smurf to avoid it being top 100 and being reset, so he gave some wins to leo on purpose. (link to his message, and another one here where he explain the details of why)
* then bapor learns that this breaks the rule and the written result for that is DQ, so he reverses into full denial mode "it never happened", "others do it to", etc (here)... And leo start false accusing other french players because they have one isolated win in less than 2 minute (here and here).

If I forgot something in between, then please correct me.

If you guys are going to judge then at least now you can do it with all the cards in your hands.
I think it's a shame that leo's DQ since he's france best and only luck at any wcg result on kw plus he's not really the kind of guy used to cheat at any given occasion, but that's no reason to lie and/or hide facts.

Not really, Leownzall is in Epsilon team like me... I didn't play a lot to KW because WCG is not my priority, i'm not sure to win it in France. So "happy" is a big word for that, specially for Bapor who i appreciate a lot.
