I've been stumbling upon many negative comments regarding Browder for quite some time now. Just curious as to why so many seem to think that he shouldn't be project lead when SC2 seems to be shaping up to be a 1st class game...
I'm a big fan of his work in the industry and I think SC2 is shaping up very well in his hands so I don't really see why he'd be ragged on or why this topic is considered off topic when he is dictating gameplay and game design.
Probably because he worked on several games for EA before moving to Blizzard, which were not great games, from a SC fan standpoint. Obviously that wasn't entirely Browder's fault, but it does mean that any "non-SC/noobifying" change to SC2 will be assumed to be Browder's call.

cause Rob Pardo is better than him and was against this automatization shitty talk
relax people when the game does not ship in 2009 Browder will be removed from his position as project lead.. Rob already skewered him on the "No LAN support" issue....
whenever Bob Kotick starts to feel too much pressure from shareholders he does what every good executive does... he fires someone Go Get Em Bob!
It would be nice if Dustin Browder would become lead designer for Company of Heroes 2, though he'd really need to study the aspects of the game since it's really, really different compared to Starcraft or Command & Conquer.
It would be better if The Leader of Activison has no take in Blizzard's Team in firing people.
It would be much better if Blizzard's Actual CEO fires people but I don't really like people getting fired because how bad the economy is. >.<
I like Dustin Browder in creating a very Micro Intensive Game called Generals; Though EA was pushing EALA even more so than Activison is in Blizzard's Development.

Skewered him? Got some proof?
Honestly nothing about that statement makes a shred of sense.
You seem to be over-estimating Browder's position. Browder is the lead designer, not the executive producer. Browder alone cannot make the call to just drop LAN support entirely. That's something only the EP can do, and I would assume it's something that would also need Rob's approval. I know it would need my approval if I were in Rob's shoes.
Dropping LAN support has as much to do with fighting piracy as it does enhancing the MP gameplay experience by keeping people on BNet. If it has something to do with anti-piracy measures, then that is definitely an executive-level decision as it affects Blizzard's balance sheets.
