Gamereplays is proud to open signups for our second 1v1 Soulstorm tournament! This will be the first in a series of tournaments that will take place over the next few months. There are currently 32 open slots, available to anyone who wishes to sign up but if we get more than 32 applicants, we will attempt to narrow it down to the best selection possible. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place in the amount of $50 USD, $30 USD, and $20 USD respectively, payable via paypal. This will be coordinated through Xfire so you must have it installed to play in this tournament.
Signups will run from Monday, December 8 to Wednesday, December 17, with a maximum of 32 participants so sign up today! The tournament will be played in two groups over from Friday to Sunday, December 19-21st, depending on which bracket you play in.
Tournament Rules:
All matches will be best of 3 with standard ESL rules on Automatch Maps, that is:
* Cheats: Deactivated
* Starting Positions: Random
* Resource-Sharing: No
* Annihilate
* Control Area
* Take and Hold
The following settings can be changed if both players agree on:
* Game Timer
Automatch Maps are as follows:
* Battle Marshes
* Blood River
* Bloody Hell
* Emerald River
* Fallen City
* Fata Morgana
* Meeting of Minds
* Outer Reaches
* Quest's Triumph
* Shrine of Excellion
* Titan's Fall
* Tranquility's End
* Velvet Duress
* Fraziers Demise
* Moon Base
No one may pick random as their race.
Picking Maps and posting replays:
Each match will be assigned a preset map to play on first, the loser of that game then picks a map to play on next. The loser of game 2 will pick the third map. No map can be replayed ie. both players cannot pick the same map or reuse the preset map.
Maps for each round:
* Round 1: Fallen City
* Round 2: Battle Marshes
* Round 3: Shrine of Excellion
* Round 4: Meeting of Minds
* Semi-finals: Blood River
* Finals: Outer Reaches
No known bugs can be abused, if a player is reported as deliberately bug abusing they will be instantly disqualified and their opponent will pass through to the next round.
One player in each match will need to post the replays of the games after each round- save these after each game. If you forget you can rename temp.rec in your Playback folder to recover your last played game. Each player should also post who won in their match.
It is your own responsibility to check the rules are set correctly before games, a game will still be counted if you play through with incorrect rules.
The Bracket and Scheduling:
The standard bracket - Saturday 20 December
18:30 GMT - All players online on xfire
19:00-20:00 GMT - Round 1
21:00-22:00 GMT - Round 2
22:00-23:00 GMT - Round 3
(23:00-00:00 GMT - Round 4)
If enough people are interested then there will be a second bracket.
Australian/American bracket - Friday 19 December
23:30 GMT - All players online on xfire
00:00-01:00 - Round 1
01:00-02:00 - Round 2
02:00-03:00 - Round 3
Finals - Sunday 21 December
18.45: GMT - Finals players online on xfire
19:00 - 20.30 semi-finals
20.30 - 22.00 final and 3/4th place final
*If an Australian bracket is held then arrangements will be made so that the Australian players can play the finals at a more suitable time
