Hi and welcome to gr.org,

I would recommend you do a virus check and then try reinstalling the game.

Also make sure the disc is not damaged in anyway, e.g. scratched.

this is the error: Error 1305. Error reading from file C:\Program Files\EA Games\Command and Conquer Generals\SpeechEnglish.big. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.

1. Run the installation from an Administrator account.
2. Try installing the game on a different PC, if possible, to see if its a PC problem or a disk problem.

If its a disk problem, you could try extracting the .zip files directly from ur CD (copy/paste to a local drive) then maunually replace the corrupt file. If you get an error while copying the files from ur CD, then I would try it with anti virus off once, if that doesnt help, then the disk is damaged, and the only solution for this is to return the disk to the store and request a new one wink.gif
If it's a PC problem, you should try disabling your virus protections and rerun the installation, also preform a disk defragmentation & clean up the temp files on the C: drive (you have no idea how many problems are solved by a simple clean up of temp files).

I've was searching on google, for that error 1305, seen loads of people had the same problem with different files, but it never got solved for a single person w00t.gif

I had this problem with my disc and it means it's damaged.
I've gotten a new one and it worked fine.

1. you can download another disc image, one that has been properly copied
2. you can use an original disc
3. if it is an orginal disc, before replacing it you can try to install it from your harddisk:

create a folder 'ccg' on your harddisk, copy every folder and file from
Generals disc1 (except the files that start with 00000) to 'ccg', also copy
the file from Generals disc2 to 'ccg', then start the setup from 'ccg'

drive emulation software may interfere with the installation process, it's
recommended to turn it of

if you were able to copy the content of the Generals discs to your harddisk but
one file was missing due to a physical damage of the disc, I'm sure someone will
be able to provide you with the missing file

The error you posted was about C&C Generals, not C&C3 TW.

"C:\Program Files\EA Games\Command and Conquer Generals\SpeechEnglish.big."

If not the above file, what was the name of the file that you was having difficulties installing?
