Wartrukk damage bugged

While watching a replay I noticed that the wartrukks damage wasnt just low it was nearly non-existant. I started watching the damage enemy squads were receiving from the wartruk when it was only the watruk attacking that squad. Enemy squads 90% of the time were only taking 1 damage per hit as though the wartruk was bugged and 90% of the time enemy squads were receiving a retreat damage resistance modifier against the wartruk even when they werent retreating.

Everyonce and a while the wartruk would start doing 5-10 damage per hit to a squad but the other 90% of the time it would only do 1 damage.

Anyone else notice this?

Possibly. But not all the time. They were SM scouts. A lot of the time they were infiltrated and I don't know how much the concealment modifier on that reduces damage but theres no way it should be reducing a wartrukks mounted bigshoota to 1 damage per hit.

Concealment vs. Wartrukks should be a non-issue because Wartrukks are detector units: they negate the bonuses of infiltration.

I've noticed this many times...that the trukk only does about 1 damage per hit when the target is NOT in cover. I thought it was supposed to be that way...but considering your points I'm thinking maybe it's an issue also. I mean...why does the SM transport do so much damage?

if you talking about why the sm transport does so much damage to ork units vs ork transport doing squat to sm its because SM infantry are considered heavy infantry armor type while orks are just infantry. and that might be also why you are seeing such low damage per hit vs eldar or other ork units the wartruck does decent damage

According to Dow2DB which pulls its data directly from the game files this is incorrect. The only heavy infantry in the game are:
  • Warrior Brood
  • Nob Squad
  • D-Cannon weapon (actual weapon platform only, if I'm reading the data correctly the accompanying troops are regular infantry)
  • Shuriken Cannon Weapon Team (actual weapon platform only, accompanying troops are regular infantry)
  • Brightlance Weapon Team (actual weapon platform only, accompanying troops are regular infantry)

The Avatar and SM Terminators (regular and assault) count as Super Heavy Infantry.

All other units (except vehicles and commanders) are just regular Infantry. This includes all the SM non-terminator infantry including Tac Squads, ASMs, Devastators, and Scouts.

The Carnifex counts as a Vehicle for damage purposes.

This is counter-intuitive, since I always think of SM as heavy infantry, but assuming Dow2DB doesn't have an error in it, SM are just regular infantry.

ahh guess im wrong there then, but clicking on them in game said heavy infantry on the selection tab but then again clicking on stormboys says ork mob rather then infantry like the rest of the ork troopers other then nobs of course.

Either there is a difference in infantry armor of orks and SM or orks just have way less hp. Either way, trukk DPS in ork mirrors is not too shabby, while I agree that it can hardly scratch tacticals, it can do numbers on sluggas, warp spiders, scouts and similar low hp guys.

On a per trooper basis Orks have way, way less hit points. Ork Slugga is 100 hit points per trooper, Ork Shoota is 120 hit points per trooper, Tac Marine is 350 hit points per trooper.
