Interesting idea with the set factions. Another option you could consider is a Factional + Subfactional tourney. This means if you choose GDI, you can play as vGDI, ZOCOM or ST. Might give some more variety to the games.
Is random allowed?

Map imbalance is gonna screw this tourny right over unfortunately.

No you must pick one of the 9 faction to play with. And random is not allowed. Thansk for bringing it up btw, i will add it to the portal

I didn't mean changing this tourney, I was just suggesting a possibility for a future tourney, because right now vGDI has pretty much no chance against a decent Traveller, however ZOCOM fares pretty well against them.

Wrong, vGDI vs T59 is one of the few decently balanced matchups in this game, and in fact, stronger vs T59 than Zocom is, because of marv + apcs + juggernauts, and the fact that they have orcas.

Great Idea for the tournament!

Kinda inspired me, we should have like a some Cup for each faction and have the best players for each faction battle it out!

So like once qualified for the BH faction, you have to play against the other qualified people and then the truly best faction is decided!

thats a cool idea lep, something i've been thinking about for a while

and even though gz pwns me at least i have a chance playing an unpopular faction haha

and yeah im very much looking forward to this tournament

what you think thats how to find out what faction is the best? rofl

it would be cool to have some thing like that but there is no way that could deside the best faction

Are there any rules regarding Traveller player abusing bugs?

I no use bugs abymore. I found it - i show it - i forget about it - i hope all forgot... This really unfair - and i hope EA fix this

Two questions
1) Why is Tournament Arena constantly the first map in GR tournaments, do people really like it that much?
2) I thought there was a Saturday/Sunday cycle with the tournaments, and IIRC, last GR tournament was on a Sunday...

Even though I can't compete, I'm very happy to see a tournament in which Random is banned and the Rock-Paper-Scissors of the GDI-Scrin-Nod triangle can't be abused.

Since when is there a GDI-Scrin-Nod triangle? It's more like Nod Oneclicks > Everything

i have never seen tournament arena the first map. ans second i cant do a tournament on saturday. and if u wanted one on saturday u would have to wait another week or two

I cant make it again. You guys are killing me. Cometo June 7th is a Sunday. How can you guys make me choose between KW and my church? (the first church of Kane )

Even if i did join in i dont know what team i would want to play as.

well i would get used to it becouse whenever i host a tourny it will be on a sunday! i cant do it on saturday

1. Well if you think about it Arena is a very balanced map in terms of faction dynamics. Everyone is square in harassment opportunity, creeps and expansion and really helps level out the slight faction advantages. That and the pros seemed to like it a lot.

2. We try to accommodate to the Referees peripherals as best we can. If the Refs cant overlook the entire tournament then it becomes complete chaos, so they come first I'm afraid.
