MG42 is pretty weak in 2.6. It reacts too slow while in buildings. That several second delay is a bit too high. I can micro my rifles around and kill the MG42 before it even gets set up and fires.
Back in the day, 2 MGs nearby each other was a sure fire way to lock down a sector for a while. Now, I can just shuffle my rifles around, throw a couple nades, and adios MG42s.
I am not looking for Wehr fanboy affirmatives here, but Brit/US player thoughts.

the mg42 was fine before they introduced that stupid window switching ability, its been nothing but a pain in the ass ever since with all the problems its caused.

In my opinion the MG42 is fine. However, sticking any machine guns in buildings is absolutely useless since they take two hundred years to switch from one window to the next.
Just revert this bloody targetting to the way it always was before 2.4
No need 2 squads and nades to flank an mg in building now. Turn around the building with 1 rifle, just not attack first the side where the mg42 is setup.
Yesterday i saw a ridiculouss thing : 1 volk run after a rifle who turned around a building with Mg, rifle killed the mg, entered in building and volk had to retreat.
Put a mg42 i, a building is still a bad idea in most case.

i actually had one in a building rifles approaching from 2 or so sides and it chose to watch 2 of those squads infront of it didnt fire for 30 seconds at which point i got it out of the building
Everyone complains about everything - no matter what. The MG42 is fine. Staggering MG42s is still the best way to shut down riflespam. I have not seen a problem with MG42s in Buildings since 2.600.

That only happens when mg enter building just before rifle aproach, so it doesn't have the time to deploy. Which is a good thing IMO, cause unsupported, undeployed mg should lose to rifle squad.
And BTW putting volks in that building instead of chasing around rifle is a good idea...
