Nemphtis' YouTube Gameplay

Hey guys, I uploaded some low quality gameplay videos of me on YouTube, mainly to test out my capture equipment. They're mostly from private games with friends of mine who aren't that great at the game, and there's a public game in there somewhere too. I'm not a part of any clans and it's rare for me to bump into good players online so I just want to state that my opponents are all inexperienced and my ego is well aware of this, so don't point out the obvious in your comments.

I'm looking for some general advice from people on what I could be doing better and what not. I noticed during the replays that I have that bad habit of respawning and then wasting my grenades in hotspots which usually doesn't result in a kill. I need to stop doing that for starters, but what else can I improve on?

Here's my YouTube channel with about four COD4 videos of me playing.

I'd like to apologise in advance as to how underwhelming these games are, they aren't clan matches or anything special, just practising with some friends. I'm trying to record every game I play hoping that I'll come across a skilled player and have something worth putting up. Anyone can look good when they're killing newbies after all.

To the moderators; there are two video forums and I have no idea which of the two this kind of topic goes in. I just took a guess so if it's wrong please move it for me.

Well you could live with all that rules except the third perks. I really wonder why they keep dead silence and ex con (most overpowered perks in that category with deep impact) and ban eavesdrop.

Is there really no league what bans everthing except bando + stopping power?

And I laughed loudly when I read their argumentation for the removal of bando.

I also found the reasoning behind Bandolier's banning a little lame. However the reason why the console scene allows certain perks is that we don't have things like ProMod which allows us to completely remove an aspect of a game. No weapons or perks can be disabled, so console rules simply state that you cannot use them but there's nothing stopping you from selecting it in a match aside from the fact that your team will be banned if someone on the opposite side is recording the match.

Well I registered on Decerto and introduced myself on the forums. Everyone was really impressed with my intro topic and I got a big welcome which was very nice of them. I've already got six guys from there who sent me a friend request, but best of all there are a lot of competitive players who are very local to me. Many of them live in London and one of them is even in the same town as me! I get the feeling these guys will be great to play LAN matches with in the future.

It's going pretty slow right now. I'm trying to get into scrims, but I spend much more time looking for scrims than actually playing them... People said I need to join a team as that get me into a lot more scrims, but there seems to only be a handful of teams who either don't need any new members, and the ones that do are teams like H2K or Dignitas, who aren't even going to give me a chance since I'm not at their level yet. So I'm in limbo right now, waiting for an opening I can jump through. sad.gif

If you play in any clan you can get noticed and start making a database of people who might offer you a place later. Don't be too picky about the team you choose and just get yourself playing games and noticed. As I am sure you know, Pub play is very different from Comp play (at least in S&D)

I might just make a team, I have a friend who's up for it and there are many players in my position who can't find a team to join so I can grab two capable players out of that lot and have a squad formed. Then from there we can use that team as an excuse to play lots of scrims, regardless of how bad the rest of the team is doing, it gives me a chance to practice with some decent players.

If you decide to form an own team, have one in your team that has already experience in competitive play and that can hopefully lead your team in a reasonable way. As long as you are a "newbie" in this community, focus on learning new things from others instead of others relying on you. smile.gif

^^Exactly what I did.
Start one up and make a name for yourself! smile.gif

A good point about having a member who has already played competitively btw.
