Yesterday, EA released patch version 1.50 for the popular online shooter Battlefield 2. This patch comes three years after the last Battlefield 2 patch and includes the usual cursory fixes and tweaks. Except this, what seems to be ordinary patch comes with an exiting twist, EA is releasing the content from Armored Fury and Euro Forces. These two mini-expansions which were previously released for 9.99 USD will be given for free with the patch download!

"Box cover for Armored Fury and Euro Forces"

This content will be available to everyone when the patch releases. This means more maps and vehicles which come with the packs and an entirely "new" faction for those who don't own Armored Fury or Euro Forces known as, The European Union.

On top of that, there will also included a new map entitled Operation Blue Pearl, on the off chance that you got bored playing the same maps for the past 4 years. There's also been some tweaking so that Battlefield 2 has better performance on modern computers, such as being able to recognize more than 2GB of RAM. There is a robust change log at Shacknews.

This patch is almost like a handy pair of shock paddles, reviving a four-year-old game.

Thanks for this post. I may actually re-install and see how this old friend ticks on my new rig. Haven't played in about 3 years (wait, how long has CoH been out?). tongue.gif

A few people have had issues with it. (alt tabbing and such, that would be a nightmare!)

The only thing that really matters though is NATIVE WIDESCREEN SUPPORT!

If you desperately have to alt+tab the only way is to disable anti-aliasing. Other than that run windowed.

Best Bf patch release, ever.

Edit: As I have Special Forces and the original this is perfect.
