Balance the Maps!

Hey guys!
I want to start a prpject what is called "balance the maps!".
Mapbalancing is the most important thing in a game, without any balanced maps, we cant find out which fraction is op or up. We cant make real strats who are very strong.
We cant do anything.

So if you ask "Why should we balance the maps, EA never will change them!!" you are right.
In these days we wont really receive a balance patch.
So I'll ask Brotkohl and Maista if they allow to play the balanced maps on their Conquer Cup and Conquer Cup Lite.

When Brotkohl and Maista allow the maps, we could get a chance of a real patch from EA (which includes the maps and some bugfixes).


So I'll start these project, show some guys the map and give the maps to you.
First I want to do is improve Fire Island (these map is full of bugs and imbalances) if someone wants to help me add me in Skype (zokker130) or write in these topic.

map balance isn't as bad as in 1.10 but still exists.

But the whole camp to shogun has meant that empire has their huge advantage taken away on cabana etc.

But most map unbalance can be sorted out by garrison changes

no man this will not work.

ea must make maps, the community can't.
same goes for patching.. community can help but it can't do it at all

how are competitive Starcraft maps made?
Blizzard's maps are a joke.

this topic is as awesome as a Ganon Tank Push....and that's pretty awesome.

I like how maps play out differently and how some maps favour certain factions.

Its hard to balance maps so they are fair for all factions anyway. Even SC has maps that favour certain factions.

examples?
name the competitive 1v1 maps in play now in SC tournament play and the faction they favour?

The Starcraft competitive map making machinery is a well oiled machine.
They are very close to balanced and 100 times better than any map Blizzard has ever made.

The community making maps is a very healthy part of the Starcraft community.
It would be great to see it replicated in RA3.

you hear it in vods tbh i nice protoss map. But i get the feeling that there r work arounds

map name?
alleged degree of imbalance relative to lets say the "lost temple" ?

the competitive community doesn't use Lost Temple.
When was the last time Medusa was used?

Lost Temple is a Blizzard map that was eliminated years ago. It was made when Terran was too weak before patch 1.06. Its many cliffs and narrow ramps protected the weak Terrans.
Even back then the community used a highly modified version of `Lost Temple`.

The "lost temple" they play in korean competitive games has nothing to do at all with the "lost Temple" map blizzard made...

u dont actually play Starcraft do u ?

Isn't the point here so shut up or take part and give some imbalanced situations.

I began to 'fix' Fire Island a lot, now you can build walls around every reff so that you are able to protect them from Terrordrones and PK's for example.
I fixed the Oilderrick bug on the right side, you cant deploy your Rax so that the rax is unblockable.
Balanced the Oil Derrick situation.
Fixed the buildradius, now its on both side the same opening.
Fixed the first expansions' reffspot on the south.
Copied the Moai
Deleted/ changed some rocks which were a problem
Fixed some groundissues

I'm going to change someting with the 'Allied gets two Spots whith one move", I'll try to make it more balanced, but tomorrow.

I guess you could put some rocks in that location to make it undeployable.

Besides map fixes, I still think just having more maps in general would allow for a better perspective in the game.

Maybe we should just discuss your change proposals and how to get those maps into the mainstream. All the other stuff is distracting. And you're at fault concerning the flood situation. The thread name is wrong and the introduction comment is vague. How about you making a topic for, say, Fire Island Tournament Edition, and specifying what you want to see in the discussion.

To sum up things:

Snow plow - Allies,
Fire Island - Details are imbalanced but all factions have decent chances there
Infinity Isle - Allies, a tiny bit sovs
Industrial strength - Soviets (people will argue here, but I really rarely loose here as sovs)
Temple Prime - Sovs, Empire
Cabana - Empire, sovs
BBB- Sovs, empire, allies have no chances on this map.
