Unfortunately, that's how he is in 2.01 . He is still useful though if you use him well, extremely useful in fact as Wizard Blast is like Slam Shot, though it has a much larger radius as well.

When cashfloating, I would use him together with my regular army. On the other hand I might try yo get KoDAs first:)

wizard blast has a very limited range though unlike slam shot O.O

That's why you shouldn't use him when there are a lot of elite archers. He's great though against enemy infantry. He can blast them all to bits. But he's not a high priority hero, there are many other things I'd rather get, so I barely ever do get Gandalf.

He's just so fun to use
