It shows an accurate ping. Does not actually decrease ping.

Possibly... I had it at 50 ping per bar and averaged 6-8 bars. So that would be like 250-150 ping wacko.gif I'm gonna test again at 20 ppb.

Also, I have changed the color of the bars so that white is great ping, turns reddish when diminishing, and black when I found an Antarctic host.

asterisks indicate color changers... the colors are in Red-Green-Blue-Alpha scheme.
CODE

***seta cg_ScoresPing_HighColor "0 0 0 1"
seta cg_ScoresPing_Interval "20"
***seta cg_ScoresPing_LowColor "1 1 1 1"
seta cg_ScoresPing_MaxBars "10"
***seta cg_ScoresPing_MedColor "1 0 0 1"

Yeah, good information. I've been wishing I had better ping info in-game, I look forward to trying this out.

Being a little paranoid here, but will messing with the config files result in a vac ban?

It shouldn't in any way. They should be able to tell that you aren't manipulating anything that would give you an advantage.

I've been using this modification for about 2 weeks now and heard nothing about it regarding warnings etc.

That's not proof of safety, I know - but I and a lot of people I know use it and none of us have had a reason to worry so far.

That said, if you make these modifications they are your responsibility, GameReplays can't be held responsible, so it's up to you smile.gif

VAC looks for modified *.exe and .dll files. This is just a simple text file.
