As most of the cheats this could happen by accident, but what mostly give it away is the timing. This game Desynced just as I was killing of the last of his base, also he stoped playing near the end, he didn't move any of his units even tho I attacked them and this could very well be going out to windows to change somekind of setting to make the game desync.
