Played typhon peaks. Protoss favored vs Zerg IMO. 3rd base impossible for Z to harass, narrow chokes and if zerg goes muta P just has to destroy the rocks in those close air positions and then his attack path is in line with the muta harass.

Yeah I think that must have been the reason. The back door slow Terran push against Zerg was almost unstoppable. But why the fuck didn't they just make the spawn points fixed in cross positions then?
For the others, it seems okay, but I dunno how to play Zerg in those map I can't harass their expo easily then they camp until 200/200 and roll over me
Lol wut, I dont mind they removing shakuras. Good map but backdoor rocks is retarded no matter what map. Havent played the new maps, but allowing scrap and dq still in the map pool makes me sad qq
Shakuras is a bad map cuz of backdoor rocks. If they didnt had rocks and made it island expansions it would actually be a gr8 map. But I dont mind at all that it has been removed.
I just played a few games of PvTs and PvZs on slag pits.
The cross spawn distance is HUGE! So it is problematic for P to push because once you're at half-way point and the mutas or MMM drop comes by, you are better off just keep going and end the game with the army or die trying because if you decide to march all the way back to base, you'll find pretty much nothing left standing...
also, the 3rd for Z is far away. It is more beneficial for the Z going mutas b/c it is so much more difficult for P to move out now or risk getting all their probes killed.
And with the immobility of P's death ball, ling run bys, and roach pokes and muta fly bys kinda make 3rd impossible for the protoss on this map unless you have like 8~ cannons defending your main, your nat, and your 3rd against the mutas and ling run bys.
I played 1 PvP on this map and once again, due to the long distances between spawns on cross, 3gate robo > 4gates.
and Shattered Temple got a huge-ass choke now. Not P FE friendly anymore (well it is still very do-able, but now I can't get away with 15~16 nex vs Z with just 2~ cannons)
overall, the new maps and the patch is gonna hit P harder than any other faction/race.
