1.06 League

Due to a large interest for 1.06 I decided to open a league to make playing 1.06 more attractive and challenging. In the following few posts you can read the details.

Global Rules:

● The 1.06 patch will be used, exclusively. You can read the details and download the patch here: Download & Changelog Patch 1.06.
● You arrange your games yourself. Contact other participants.
● Hamachi channel zerohour1.6 is a perfect tool to communicate with. When you play 1.06 in the league, please just add (1.06 League) behind your nick in the channel. ZH Online works also perfect as a communication tool and to play against each other.
● The default ZH online lobby has to be defined. Please discuss!
● There is no game-limit; participants can play each other as much as they like.
● Any matchup from 1v1 to 4v4 can be played, including “Free For All” games.
● The winner of one team (1v1 to 4v4) saves the replay and posts it in this topic for it to count, directly after a won game[b]. Replays are posted as chronological as possible as this has an impact on the point system! If you play a series just add the chronology in your post; sth. like this: ReLaX vs Murder- W-L-L-W.
● When playing inside the league we list your nick in the league. Please don’t switch to much with your nicks to make it easy to report games.
● The players are allowed to play throughout one faction if they like. It is not forbidden and in this patch it should not be unfair as 1.06 has a good balance.
● Random Balance does not work when playing over Hamachi. For the fairness, just tell your opponent your faction at the beginning of each game to match with games in ZH Online.
● We are playing for fun! Any bad behavior does not belong to this fun league. If you don’t like playing a map ask for another one and find a solution.
Here we provided a map pack. Feel free to use or write comments about the maps.
● Depended on how much one player makes troubles we can decide together to kick him out of the league.
● With a mismatch or a serious error, you should talk to your opponent what to do. In the best case you just play again with same armies.
● Every month we reset the points to 1000 points and list 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The winner may get a prize. That’s under discussion at the moment.
● Out of the results of a votes we will have 2 Best replays for each month which are:
1. Best 1.06 replay (on any map)
2. Best 1.06 replay for a unique & efficient BO
● We will update the league once we have time for it. It will always be a picture out an EXCEL sheet that displays who has which rank with how many points. It will also display the last post which is rated.

Point System & examples:

● This league uses a home-made system, which supports the idea of an ELO system (like in chess) which is highly simplified to make big calculations unnecessary. The higher your point total, the less points you gain when you win a match. Other way round if a bad player (low point count) wins versus a good one (more points) he gains more points. Each player starts with 1000 points.
● Here are differences between the point counts and the results (winner versus loser always):
X < -200_______________(40 points)
X >=-200 & X<=+200_____(30 points)
X >+200 ______________(20 points)
X >=+400 ______________(10 points)
This system will be used in February & March 2013. There was a vote here which system you prefer in February & March 2013.
● Example 1:
Player A has 830 points and wins a 1v1 game against player B with 1050 points. A has to post the game and has a difference of -220 points (830-1050). Player A gains 40 points and B loses 40 points.
● Example 2:
Player B wins this time according to example 1. He has 220 points more and would gain 20 points whereas A will lose 20 points.
● Example 4:
Player C has 1310 points and wins against player D with 1160 points. The difference is 150 points. C gets 30 points and D loses 30 points. Other way round it would stay the same.
● Example 4:
Player A+B plays a 2on2 and wins versus player C+D. In this case only the lowest point count of a team is relevant. For team AB it is player A with 830 points and for team CD the lowest point count is 1160 points. Difference is here 830-1160=-330. Each player of team A+B would therefore win 40 points and the other team loses 40 points each.
● Example 5:
Expecting 5 players play a 1v1v1v1v1. The winner gets 30* (number of player – 1) = 120 points. All 4 other players get a reduction of 30 points. Very simple!
● Activity Bonus:
On top of the ELO point count at the end of the month (00:00 GMT) we add the activity bonus which got decided here. The standard ELO points increase by your played games.

Good work Relax! Thanks.
I have a suggestion though, since random balance does not seem to work in LAN games could you add in that if players are playing on Hamachi they must declare there faction that they get randomed to.

The whole point of random balance was to make 1.04 a little better. If 1.06 is what it's supposed to be there is no need for random balance.

1.06 includes Random balance on its own. No need to change it.

There still is, whilst the factions themselves are all rather balanced, not knowing who you're versing puts you at a huge disadvantage because t hen you don't know how to open, creating luck whether or not you open the correct way against the correct faction. For example CC sell 2X fac gat spam against a USA.

Hmmm, I'm not sure, maybe my mind is used to the luck factor in 1.04, also I play mainly 3v3s as I always had a couple of mates online to play with. Will be fun to learn.

E: I will be on tomorrow evening to play some games for this league, hope you guys will be on, right now I go eat at a restaurant I really cannot afford! biggrin.gif

Another three games here. Not very exciting though. Am I supposed to say who wins for your convenience?
I won all 3.
