its not lame, its a micro trick and u have to decide whether its worth it since u often lose the money because the scaffold gets killed. u can also detonate traps with scaffold demo trap, another micro trick
Well since rage doesn't number his workers he probably uses idle worker button. He is fastest one to do it from what I seen. Never seen RoHaN do it though.
I didnt ever do it, just simple thinking about it. When you go for idle worker button you go away from the scrap with your mouse, but when you have your worker numbered you just press one key for worker and second key for scaffold without moving your mouse from scrap = its faster
