Please go into your game directory's lang folder (the English equivalent would be C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king\lang), copy and zip the file russianpatch201.big, and post it here for me! That would be the first step.
And yes, thanks. Not having a proper translation is a big way to reduce people's interest in the patch, so this helps a lot.

I don't understand I'm afraid, can you try to explain better? The words in what are written in the Russian language but with the wrong letters? In the game itself?
no, not in the game, cirrilic lags are in the language file "russianpatch201.big" look here: http://yfrog.com/c9screen20091112170247j http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/7426/sc...91112170247.jpg there is russian file "russianpatch201.big", the letters are russian too. but the words....... i don't now how can i translate words that i not understand... but i think, maybe i have translate the file "englishstrings202"? because file "russianpatch201.big", its in russian and... what there are translate?
That's OK! The .csf file stored in the .big archive requires a CSF Editor to read. Chances are high that it will be fine if we have a CSF Editor. So far only one language (Polish) has had any problems.
Can you zip the russianpatch201.big and upload it here? Then we can talk specifics about what must be done.
Meh, this might take a while as the only two CSF editors I can find probably don't support whatever characterset that CSF file uses. My only hope is that it somehow displays properly on your own computer but I kind of doubt it will.
Now try using it to open the CSF file. I assume you know how to get it out of FinalBIG but I'll zip it here as well.
Try to read the strings. Do you see Russian or do you see nonsense? For APPDATA:PictureFolder I see !=8<:8 M:@0=0 83@K ;0AB5;8= >;5F, >4 7=0<5=5< >@>;O-G0@>45O which makes less sense than anything I've seen in a CSF file so far
Most likely you'll see this as well. If so then either I'll have to come up with some cool way of reading CSF files on my own (not likely to succeed as I won't know what I'm doing ) or more likely this just won't be possible.
Edit - I get something if I view the .csf file in Microsoft Word using Unicode encoding. It is gibberish to me but as it is all foreign language characters that is to be expected.

Uh. Forlong, you got to link me for that topic that we were discussing about portuguese version. As soon as I get back into the game I'll put my hands on it.
No, i don't see russian.....((( I see nonsense too.... But, how was translated file 2.01 eng patch?
The English game uses a .str rather than a .csf file, so I can edit it in a simple text editor like Notepad. EA did not consent to make it that easy for foreign language games for some reason. The problem we have now is that the only CSF editors I can find don't support the characterset we need for Russian (and it didn't for Polish either, works fine for Spanish, French, Dutch), so unless we devise our own editor (not going to happen ) or figure something else out we're stuck.
can anybody give me the language file, and i'll translate this patch to russian language.....
