has just learned and is sad to announce that Brian Wood, the Lead Designer of Company of Heroes: Online
and designer of Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor
was fatally injured in an automobile accident on Friday, September 3rd near Oak Harbor, Washington. Mr. Wood was killed instantly when an oncoming vehicle entered his lane. Washington State Police report that the other vehicle, a Chevrolet Blazer, struck Mr. Wood's Subaru head-on and drove over the top of the vehicle.
Also in the vehicle was Mr. Wood's wife, Erin Wood who is 6 months pregnant. Mrs. Wood was transported to the hospital where she was treated for minor injuries. Doctors say that she will recover and that the baby will be fine.

Reports indicate that the other driver, Jordyn Weichert, was attempting to remove a sweater when she swerved off of the road. In an attempt to regain control, both she and the front-seat passenger, Samantha Bowling, grabbed the steering wheel and over-corrected, causing the Blazer to cross into the Wood's lane of travel. Both Weichert and Bowling were wearing seat belts. Also killed in the accident were Jacob Quistorf and Francis Malloy who were in the back seat of the Blazer and were ejected from the vehicle. State Patrol have indicated that there is a suspicion of drug involvement. GameReplays.org
offers our deepest sympathies to Mr. Wood's family and also to our friends over at Relic Entertainment.
