Panzer Elite Tip #5

Marder III Tactics

Marder III's are available from an upgraded Panzer-Jager Kommand and are the main anti-tank gun available to the Panzer Elite. Not only in this unit an AT gun, it's also a vehicle which allows it to easilly maneuver into offensive positions or quickly escape from danger. This anti-tank vehicle has a massive range similar to the American 57mm AT gun, it outranges all armor in the game making it perfect for destroying tanks and light vehicles while taking minimal damage in return.

The Marder III's range is equally matched by it's damage, able to do the same amount of damage as both the american and british anti-tank guns, it can also often snipe infantry down but don't depend on it for anti-infantry firepower. All Marder III's come with the 'Site Main Gun' ability, which keeps them in a stationary position but improves their penetration and damage, reduces their weapon reload time and gives them an wider sight radius. In addition to this if a player has chosen Tank Destroyer Tactics and aquires the ACPR rounds ability, the Marder III's penetration is substantially increased, and that's passive so it works at all times.

Similar to the Stug in it's maneuverability, the Marder III turns around very slowly and does not have a turret making this vehicle not good at shooting while moving, this is why the Marder should always have a good length of distance between itself and it's target. Also just like stugs, Marder's are best used while in groups of 2-3 as they can easilly defend eachother from fast vehicles or tanks trying to circle around the Marder and not take any damage in return.

Marders are great when used in open ground as there are less objects to get in the way of their firing sight. A most commonly used tactic is the 'Marder crawl' where 2 marders, with support from other units, keep on moving forward slowly one by one and take turns to lock down, this is a great way to dispose of armor like the sherman firefly hiding in the fog of war.

Utilize the abilities and advantages of the Marder III and it will prove to be well worth the investment of any Panzer Elite player.
