Relic Entertainment has announced this morning the open beta will be available starting today, June 4, 2013 at 10:00 AM PST. The open beta will run until June 18, 2013, one week before the game's release date. All players will be able to access the beta through Valve's online distribution platform, Steam. If you don't have Steam yet, be sure to download and install the software. The game will require Steam in order to run.
The beta will comprise six of the game's twelve maps with access up to level 45 of the rank progression system. Bulletins and commanders available up to level 45 will be included as well. If players were apart of the closed beta, this will sound familiar. Relic has already confirmed, however, balancing and improvements have been made since the
Company of Heroes 2 Closed Beta. The non-disclosure agreement affecting the closed beta has also been lifted, allowing players to stream and post videos or images of the game.
In the announcement, Relic stated users will keep all rewards and progression obtained once the game's fully released if players buy the game. In order to be eligible for retention, players must purchase the game within sixty days after launch and play the same Steam account as used during the open beta. If you already own the game via pre-order, you will automatically retain progression and rewards.
