Shopping levels 1-5

*Note: There is an item index at the end of the guide if needed.

As a level 1 Fire Torchbearer you will want to take Blade of the Serpent as your favor item. This favor item allows you to regain a percentage of mana based on how much damage you do over a period of time. With this Fire Circle, Fire Nova, auto attacking and Fire Ball you will never run out of mana if played correctly because you receive mana from all of these powers. Your first purchase at the shop should be Banded Armor and 2 Teleport Scrolls if favor is allowed. If favor is disabled buy Banded Armor and the Scaled Helm because you will need mana regen without Blade of The serpent.

-Your first purchase with or without favor should be Unbreakable Boots (1500)
-With favor you should buy Nimoth's Chest Plate (1500) Without favor -> Vlemish Facegaurd (1750)
-By now your should be past level 5

Levels 1-5 Play and Nuisances

Playing Fire Torchbearer requires smart targeting and lane control. The first step in playing Fire Torchbearer is capturing a flag SOLO I cannot stress this point enough. It’s imperative to gain all of the experience from a flag yourself. 1 flag capture + the first creep wave = level 2 as Torchbearer. This makes holding your lane for a few minutes exceptionally easy with fire circle and fireball. Another highly important part of fire torchbearer is form dancing to get your auto attack to hit in the 200's the entire game. Almost no Demigod can hit 250 at level 1 except torchbearer. If you play smart and target demigods with your auto attack you might get an early kill with your 550 fireball when you hit level 4. Remember to activate Blade of the Serpent as often as possible when using fire circle/auto attacking to regenerate your mana pool.

Shopping levels 5-15

By now a Fire Torchbearer playing with favor allowed should have:
Banded Armor, Unbreakable Boots and Nimoth's Chest Plate

By now a non favor Fire Torchbearer should have:
Banded Armor, Scaled Helm, Unbreakable Boots and Vlemish Faceguard

*Both a favor allowed and no favor Fire Torchbearer should purchase a combination of the following, I will not write a guide on items past this part because builds vary depending on how the game is going.

-Boots of Speed: Getting lots of kills? Don't let them get away with these Boots! (1000)
-Wand of Speed: Getting killed? Get away with this Trinket! (1750)
-Narmoth's Ring: Need some more hp? get it with this trinket! (4000)
-Cloak of Flames: Got a ton of kills? Get this artifact to end it quicker! (ZOMG DOUBLE FIRE CIRCLE FTW) (10,000)

*Notes: A non favor Fire Torchbearer should at some point replace Banded Armor with Nimoth's Chest Plate. Always keep a healthy amount of Teleport Scrolls and Flag Locks towards the end of the game. I always have two Teleport Scrolls on me whenever possible for delicious teleport gank kills!

Levels 5-10 play

So first blood has already happened! Unclean Beast is reaching upwards of 5-6k HP! What should a Fire Torchbearer do?

Mid game Fire Torchbearer thrives off of taking it to towers. Your objective should be to take out all forward towers with the Priests Citadel Upgrade. A combination of Fire Circle and Fireball with some 250-300 damage auto attacks will literally eat towers. With Blade of The Serpent active you will constantly be spamming Fireball and Circle. The only kills you will get are with support from your teammates. After Level 5 Fire Torch Bearer can no longer solo do to the high amounts of HP's other demigods have, so watch out for ganks and doubles from your opponents. When you hit level 7 look to surprise an opponent with your 850 damage Fireball, they should be very comfortable with your 550 by then and might not expect the extra 300 damage. Don't forget to constantly form dance, the extra damage can add up to extra kills.

Levels 10-15 play

Fireball is officially maxed out. You have the ability to finish off almost any gank!

USE THOSE TELEPORT SCROLLS LIKE CRAZY. If you are good at watching your teammates and the map you should easily get a few kills late game to buy those giants! After Catas/Angels show up on the map grab some flag locks and push for portals. This is where Fire Torchbearer shines with his speed from Fire Aura and Wand of Speed. You can get in cap a portal and get out in a matter of 20 seconds. Finish the game as soon as possible because after level 15 Fire Torchbearer runs out of gas. He’s only good for so long and then auto attacking demigods like Unclean Beast and Oak eat him for lunch.

Explanations and Insight into the Future of Fire Torchbearer

The reasoning behind going Stat Increase or Fire Aura depends on what you prefer. The Stat Increase offers mana, hp, armor, weapon damage etc... whereas the Fire Aura offers only movement speed, attack speed and weapon damage. I prefer Fire Aura because movement speed on my squishy Torchbearer saves me almost every game.

This build is only going to become more popular when Fire Torchbearers auto attack is fixed. Right now it’s horribly bugged only being able to attack while stationary. This makes this build easy to use but very hard to master because you have to know when to sit still and auto attack and when to run.

Citadel upgrades are an important part of the game. You should be communicating with your team about who can afford certain upgrades. Fire Torchbearer is great at helping out because most of his items are relatively cheap.
