GameReplays.org is still in search of Writers to join our growing portal team. If you're interested in Writing newsposts and articles, have some journalistic experience, and are fluent in English, feel free to apply. What are your benefits as a Writer? - The opportunity to use your writing talent by contributing to the development and maintenance of the GameReplays.org portals.
- The opportunity to have first access on certain game alphas and betas and possibly, in the future, free games to review/preview.
- A staff badge and access to the staff forums.
- Opportunity for promotions.
As a Writer, you will be responsible for the following: - Writing at least two newsposts every week (this figure is subject to change). A newspost is a (approximately) 100-300 word news story that can cover just about anything in the gaming community.
- Putting all works through revision before posting them. Your works will be looked over by an Editor or Senior Editor and edited for grammar, spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, and formatting mistakes. It's not an insult to your intelligence to put a piece through revision- everyone makes mistakes and we want to be 100% sure that we're putting quality work on the portals.
- Communicating with Editors and Senior Editors about activity and discussing any concerns/questions.
If you're interested in applying, please include the following in a PM to Locke or Lombardi: - Two examples of newsposts. Search the internet or GameReplays, find some news about events, announcements, patches, tournaments, or anything that interests you (must be gaming related), and write a 100-300 word news story for each. On some occasions, we may ask you to attempt a third newspost. You will be promptly rejected for any plagiarized work.
- Detailed and thoughtful answers to the following questions:
-What is your age and how have your grades/marks been in English courses over the last 1-2 years? If you are out of school, what is your current profession?
-What experience do you have in journalism, such as journalism classes or internships?
-Do you often read professional news websites, news magazines, or newspapers?
-Are you able to successfully brainstorm questions, contact a person for an interview, and carry out that interview in an organized and professional manner? What sort of experience do you have with interviewing?
The answers themselves won't determine your acceptance onto the Writing staff, but we would definitely like to know a bit about your experience and ability. We're looking for people that can communicate well and are confident in themselves and their ability. If you're interested, please apply!

Starcraft 2 Announced! It's official folks, one of the worst kept secrets in recent years was today out of the bag, StarCraft 2 is currently in production.
Goodbye SagekingSadley Sageking has decided to leave his job as a Petroglyph community manager today will have been his last day. He has done this job for about a year and has done an amazing job, it will be horrible to see him go but lets hope he does well it what he decides to do.

Below is a snipit of his goodbye topic, in my opinion its a very deep and meaningful topic and you will probably agree.
"It has been a bit over a year since I've started at Petroglyph as your Community Manager. Since then, I've had the pleasure of meeting so many of you guys on various levels. I've had a chance to chat with you about your personal lives, school, gaming interest (be it your mods, fan sites, community ideas, etc), and so much more.
How far we've come
We've come quite a ways from when the hub where Petroglyph community leaders and gamers could come together, were just ideas on paper.
Today, we have a bustling new community with nearly 50,000 posts in just over half a year! Even more impressive, we have nearly a 100 people just chilling on our site right now, actively viewing topics, hanging out with other members, and immersing themselves in our community...the Petroglyph Community. We have devs and fans communicating regularly, with devs sharing their knowledge through podcasts and vodcasts, hopefully inspiring generations of gamers and leaders alike."
As a lot of you maybe asking who will be the next community manager? Well Sageking also managed to fit that into his goodbye speech.
"I will be helping Petroglyph interview new candidates for the duration of my work time here. I am confident that Petroglyph will bring someone on board quickly to ensure a smooth transition"

GameReplays is proud to announce another tip for EaW: Forces of Corruption. This week it covers covers the priorites when targetting enemy capital ships. "Now in Galactic conquest the first target should of course be the shields. After you are done taking care of those you should then move on to the engines (note if tarkin is in the fleet ignore this and concentrate on more important targets). This being that even if the enemy retreats any ship that has its engine destroyed will not jump into hyperspace but be logged as a kill. This is especially effective verses the rebels who will jump in with a fleet of 100 nebulon B's only to retreat when you blow up a Y-Wing squad. With that exception you should follow the same rules as skirmish."Read the full TotW here.
