As defiler you should be building tanky and wanting to take the punishment from the enemy to save your squishy allies like nymph and slither getting instagibbed IMO.
They already had Arma to tank. Defilers job was to stay alive when Pred focused him (which he seemed to do in every teamfight) and he did just that perfectly. Pred jumped him with his leap, defiler ult'ed and jumped up in his stormspirit and did a shitton of dmg to Pred. Stormspirit is way more versatile than e.g. a Sac Stone, and Stormspirit can be used both defensively and offensively.
I think it was a super pickup by him, given the current match and lineup.

Not to forget the movementspeed you gain from stormspirit.
Chu's defiler really took the cake though. As has already been said many times, the storm spirit was so clutch on numerous occasions. If I were to play WHP, I'd definitely ban defiler
The behemoth was pretty terrible. He successfully initiated maybe twice the whole game and seemed to be out of position often.
I didn't like the torturer either, nuking at the last second several times when the kill could have gone to predator and forsaken archer, as well as missing some pretty important stuns early game.
