Rules and Formalities

Event Format

For this tournament we are having a 32 player limit, any player that signs up after we reach 32 players will be added to the reserve list.

During this tournament players will be seeded into groups of 4. For each round, players will face each other in 3 games with the top 2 players of these games moving onto the next round. The top 2 players from these games will be placed into the brackets opposite them. So the top 2 players from game 1 will play against the top 2 players from game 4 while the top 2 players from game 3 will play against the top 2 players from game 2. This will continue all the way into the Grand Finals.

Because we have limited staff members we will be starting the Round of 32 in 2 different groups. Group A will commence at 12:00-GMT while Group B will Start as soon as Group A is completed. These groups will be seeded by tournament officials. If you have a preference for a group please say so when you register and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Gamereplays.org staff members will be hosting the games for this tournament, you will have 5 minutes to enter the lobby. Failure to do so may result in a disqualification. The staff members in the lobbies are to be treated as tournament referees.

Points will be allocated to the based on what place they come after each game.
  • 3 Points for first place
  • 2 Points for second place
  • 1 Point for third place
  • 0 Points for fourth place
The two players with the highest amount of points at the end of the round will be declared the winners. If there is a tie between 2 players then they will have to battle it out in a 1v1 on Tournament Arena.

After the winner of each round has been determined, it is the responsibility of the winning player to report the victory to a referee and to post the result and the replay(s) in the specified results thread. Players may not proceed to play their next round unless and until the replays (both defeats and victories) from the previous rounds have been uploaded to gamereplays.org as directed by the tournament rules or staff.

Conduct at the Event

Players are expected to assist in the conduct of the event. Accordingly, conduct which tends to disrupt the event, including a failure to follow the instructions of the tournament manager or staff, interrupting or intervening in announcements made by the tournament staff or discourteous or disruptive conduct generally may result in forfeiture, sanction or disqualification from the tournament or future tournaments. Players or individuals that disrupt or attempt to disrupt the event may be kicked off line and banned from return during the course of the event or future events. The decision of the tournament manager on all matters concerning the conduct and outcome of the tournament is final and not open to debate. Questioning any such decision is likely to be treated as disruptive conduct.

Out-of-Sync (OOS) Errors

In case of a desync or out-of-sync error, the following policy applies: You must save the replay, and a tournament staff member will review the replay. If there is a clear winner, that team will advance. If not, the match will be replayed. The staff member's decision is final and non-negotiable, and failure to comply with the decision may jeopardize your eligibility for future tournaments. Repeated OOS errors in relation to a particular player/team may indicate abuse. Should this occur, the player/team in question may be disqualified and banned from future tournaments.

Quad Turrets: Quad Turrets are banned from this event, a player seen using them will loose all their points.

Cheating/Disconnecting/Dispute Resolution

All reports and issues will be resolved by the tournament manager and the referees. Poor sportsmanship may also result in disqualification from the tournament.

Ladder Wars Tournament Rules
